I think this should be taken down or moved. It doesn't have anything to do directly with window cleaning, causes ill feeling , and gives us and this forum a bad name as money grabbing and forever after something for nothing.

I see the usual amount of wind has been expelled. ::)

If there was £750+ I guarantee it would get the highest vote.

VG, It has to do with window cleaning as the question was what's your best days earning (from window cleaning as that's what this forum is about). How does it cause ill feeling? How does it give "us and this forum a bad name as money grabbing"? And where does this "and forever after something for nothing." come from?

These posts start nice Feen, but it always ends in a bitter row. That's the effect it has on us.

The other effect is newsters seeing bloated swaggering bragerdishero posts of a hundred pounds before I got to the traffic lights type and believing them.

It's not mine, that rumble in the jungle bloke George forman used it to describe the loathing(at the time) he had for a swaggering posturing  Mohamed ali. This later turned to a great deal of admiration

Surely your hour rate should determine your day rate, so basically it's just about how many hours you can or will work

My best day ever is usually a Saturday or Sunday when I don't work at all! :)

I'll be honest, my best ever day can be pretty darn good if I lump a lot of my best accounts in that day and work long and hard.  I can hit, what I think, is a pretty good figure, but that would only happen six-times-a-year, as some of these accounts are every-other-'monthers'.

But to be more honest, if I work seven hours a day, taking a decent lunch break and can get in four of five days per week; weather allowing, I can turn over a good wadge; not a massive one, I wouldn't call it large either, but not a tiny one; but enough to pay the bills, a bit for a 'rainy day' and allow for a few luxuries.

With Wor Lass, I can do much more; she's getting a fairly quick and 'handy' window cleaner, though it has taken five years!  I did four traditional accounts today, (old people - close to death - I really don't want to frighten them with the WFP; and two of them are deaf, so I couldn't explain it to them, one has altzhimers and the other is blind), and I struggled to keep up with her doing the ground floor with me doing the first floor on ladders.

Of course I'd like to earn more for my time and effort though.  I feel a new post comming on! ;)

Have to agree with VG on this, people psting what they can earn upsets others than earn less, I post myself but can get the point about ill feeling, i think every window cleaner in the UK should set a rate and stick to it

I don't feel comfortable talking about my finances, but when i found the forum it really did open my eyes to what some people were achieving
I came into wc from a data input job in a factory on min wage and i was happy initially reaching a tenner an hour.
Then i found the forums and it drove me onwards and upwards.
My earnings would have increased naturally as i got quicker anyway, but not as quick as they did without seeing how others were faring financially per hour worked.

When money is discussed of course it can get heated but this forum should be permitted to carry these threads....lets face it window cleaning is pretty 'closed' and finding out information about prices, earning's is all part and parcel of window cleaning...and this forum allow those who normally work in isolation to get a feel for what is happening in their industry. Of course there may be some posts that claim 6 grand for the windows in a shed every 3 days but if we then use a little common sense....all will be well.

These days too many people want to censor our lives....why?

Pingu.

'Best day ever' is the topic

In reality my best days have nothing to do with window cleaning or money.

However a best day's money may only be a one off and may never come again, making an average day considerably less than most realise.

Two years ago when I started WFP I only knew of 2 others in my area doing it, now I can think of 15 - 20 and lose count, and when guys who are starting up ask me about it they all say the same thing....they've heard you can make loads of money easier!

How sad greed is what drives so many lazy people, they are in for a rude awakening....
Nothing worth having comes easy.
24 years working for myself with highs and lows has taught me that.
