Title: Backpack switch
Post by: Davie T on September 16, 2007, 09:13:33 am
Anyone fitted a simple on / off switch that replaces the fiddly base switch?

Ideally I would like to place the new switch somewhere easier to access and use.

If you are using with the backpack on the ground it is so much hassle to move it to put the swich off.

I built one for myself and Jouk45 with excellent results and all for less than a fiver.

If you have microsoft word installed on your computer, I can send you the full instructions with pictures, it shows you how to use the switch already fitted, so you have the use of the four speeds and the on/off function plus the led is visable, if you want the instructions let me have your email address.

I suppose I could have made a few bob, but I would sooner give the instructions to members for free, so they could build there own for less than a fiver.

Its just a small project box I bought from Maplins, Just has to be a little bigger than the PCB board in the backpack,

I think I paid about £1.50 or £1.98 for it, It was less than £2.
