Title: Macmac?? You there?
Post by: Feen on September 11, 2007, 07:09:34 pm
Could you email some details about your pole? You said you only use the sections you need. How do you do this? Is it quick/handy? Can I see pics anywhere etc? I have sent the omnipole back and need to decide how best to go. Thanks.

If your talking about the facelift pole the sections just pull out,if your going to use it at 24ft you will need to get a base section for that length or get different sized end caps to protect the bottoms of each section.

The carbon facelift is a superb pole, it's telescopic but each section is removable, it just slips off, no tools or owt required. so you only have to use however many sections you actually need. mine is 44ft but i only use it at full length once a month the rest of the time i just have four sections on (24ft) & add any more if i do anything higher ( every now & then). so, you have a pole at 44ft & can use it at any length without having the weight of the rest of the sections on it. four sections does 95% of my work & at this length it's light, rigid & very, very robust. the clamps are super, it's so quick to use, the base section is nice and thin. it realy is a dream to use.
The only downside is it's price, it's expensive, but (as many on here quote) you get what you pay for. for me, it's the best domestic pole on the market from what i've seen.
Is it worth the money? every penny!

Owt else?

Probably, mine goes in my kangoo but i split it in two, that's another good point if removable sections. ;)
I have it with four sections on at all times in the kangoo. carry the other sections together when needed.

I used the 25ft and 35ft cf facelift in Blackpool, very nice poles, lovley thin sections. The prolong 25ft is just as stiff though and a similar weight but alot cheaper. anything after 25ft either get Gardiners new superlite/xtel hybrid/facelift. held both the 35ft xtel and 35ft facelift, facelift is better but xtel is close behind, for price and closed size I would get the xtel. But myslef I am going to get the new superlite because of price, weight, stifness and storage size. Even though I''m young I have a pain in my shoulder if I work at akward angles and with a heavy pole so the lightness is important, especially for your future health. Luke

I think the facelift is 6 ft sections.  I have another pole that has 6 ft sections.  It fits in my Trafic as long as it's diagonal.  Altrernatively, the section with the brush could be removed temporarily as the brush adds a little to the length (you may find it a hassle to do thisd each time though).  Of course, if yoiu have the LWB version then it will fit comfortably (extra 0.4 metres).
