I clean a conservatoty roof that reputedly has this miracle stuff. No different as far as I can see. Just clean it wfp. The walls of the conservatory are a mix of hydrophobic and hydrophilic glass (hope I got the big words right ;) ;)) Seems to me that they whack in any old stuff and tell the customer what they think they want to hear. For example, self cleaning glass........... :-X

Do NOT  use a brush - use a microfibre washing wand and loads of water. Its got a photochromic micro thin coating that will take a few days to recover its magic after you give it a good bashing.
I would seriously explain it to the customer and get a disclaimer in wrting or you could have a claim on your hands.

Jeff, I bow to your superior knowledge. What should I do? Customer asks me to clean "self cleaning" glass. Tell them no I can't because of the whatever film on it or I clean it?

Lets have non of that bowing/sectret hshake/foot in the water stuff, Im the same as everybody else here  -part nuts  ::)
Well its down to if you want the job or not, pilks say only clean with a soft wet cloth and water, hence the micrfibre wand and plenty of water. I would explain your side of the situation to them, Pilks have a warranty which may be voided if incorectly cleaned. Then get them to sign a simple understanding that they are now aware of the self cleaning situation and wont hold you responsible etc or for any scratches that may already be there and get it signed or walk away.
Personally it may be self cleaning but doesnt usually work, in other words its an expensive cobble together salesmans wet dream

I think they stopped calling it "self cleaning" and changed it to "low maintenance " glass.

To be honest they have not asked to see it . All they wanted to know is how much it would cost
