You are totally wasting your time. I have no idea of the amount of hours that you have put into your "blog" but I am guessing that if you are charging yourself out at your cleaning rates it would approximate to a few grand. And for what? About 10 hits a day? Whooopee.

I that case thoose stats arent bad, if nothing else it will help your site's google ranking.

Ian ( Gourlay) I would've thought you would have realised by now.....  how many customers Ian harpers gets is not really imortant, what important to him is how many people are reading his tripe  :D :D

You should do a blog Mike.

'Today I picked up my 100,000 leaflets for this week and gave them to my distributor with his £15 wages. I still think I pay him too much' ;D

£15 ' and a pair of my old shoes', and yes I'm definitely paying him too much, you just can't find illegal immigrants as easily as a couple of years ago

I should write a blog, at least if would be about real carpet cleaning ;)

I have found it very helpfull when it comes to internet marketing.

Much easier than google's webmaster guidlines!

Keep it up Ian

The whole point is at some point you want to be able to identify them and then turn them into  'customers', that is someone who pays you money for something (not just cc either).

How are you going to do that Ian? Give something away 'free' for an email address instead of having it open viewing?

Maybe he's looking beyond the next week of carpet cleaning.

guys

thanks.

my plan is to cover London and home counties.

i have been farming my local town for two years now and it does not give me what i want. so i am trying to get the numbers.

we all know that selling is a numbers game. well at the moment i need every call turned into a customer. which i can do if i answer the phone, like most of us.

but i use a call answering service and their return is no so good. if i want to do a good job i need to focus on that and not answering calls.

so by switching my marketing budget to SEOing my site. not by some guide from amazon but with real people that know what they are doing. for example to they told me (and i checked) my site had over 800 errors on it. this effects my ranking and position.

it does not matter who read the two blogs. they serve tow purposes first content. Google looks for relevant content. second as hits that counts as well.

sure i don't get what i want at the moment but it is going to take four months for me to get the site SEOed so it performs how it should. then i would expects to see the numbers that i want.

So I am not going to sit around waiting for it to happen. its important i keep adding content all the time as again Google looks for this.

The blogs themselves are just starting i need to build up a social network and that's what my active link page is all about.

as you all know you cant make a change on your site today and expect results next week.

with regards to me talking to much. I know for FACT that many users on this forum never post and i have had calls from many and helped them out. so i am very sorry if it get on some nerves but other need and want this info. for example how can you ask a question about something if you don't know about it. it need first to bought to your attention.

and second this is not the first time at me trying to build a carpet cleaning business so i know how hard it can be without the knowledge. i have spent money finding lots of this info and have no problem sharing it.

I can tell you i leave a lot of the detail out as it really would get on peoples nerves. and its better that way as it makes people value the free info if they have to work a bit to get anything from it.

so far on this project i have spent £750 how would it be for all of us to do that? whats the point of these forums?

Respect
