I`ve just got hold of 2 salmon brushes that are mono crinkled medium grade bristle, they seem quite stiff but when wet seem to soften up a bit.I know like me your always trying new brushes but i`m worried about it scratching glass,it`s like the 15" one Jouk used in his car jet demo only it`s medium grade so slightly stiffer,i know some people have said if your no careful you can scatch car paintwork with them.

Im no jeff b but i used to use the brush you are on about.
I never had any problems with scratched glass.

I'm no Jeff either but be careful you don't let the plastic edges of the brush touch the paintwork, as this will scratch the paint.

Peter do you mean the stock of the brush might scratch paintwork, what do you think about that grade of bristle on the glass i don`t want to go scratching.

Try washing a panel of your car with it and then take a good look in the sun- not ::)
Mono filament will usually scratch any soft plastic or anything softer than itself, sidings/panels etc but not glass. Thats why Vikan use flocked because of the potential damage to car paint, so dont wash cars with it even thought the pure water does a gr8 job
I always used to use mono because it holds less dirt.
Hope this helps.

Cheers Jeff no i don`t wash my car-van with a mono i know wht it can do to them,do you know what grade of bristle i`m on about,it`s salmons new medium slightly stiffer than the green stocked mono that Gardiners sell.

Not unless I can have hands on or a good pic, but I have seen/used the blue salmon hygeine range with the crinkle bristles - also similar to Gaz crinkle brush. I thought that the crinkles would scrub the glass better whenlayed on their side, they splayed flater but I found that paticular brush to be too stiff and cleaned with a wire brush leaving more chance of spotting effect, didnt "suit me sir" but others may think its gr8.
ps got about 3 dozen broom handles I dont know what to do with, anyone think of a use for them :)

I didn`t get the wire brush bit of that Jeff, these bristles certainly don`t push flat.

Yes, they are too stiff, not much splay to get in the nooks and crannies.
