hi,
i have an appointment with mr tax in the morning.
rather than take my books and mess about, i thought i might try the george system out for my figures.
can anyone tell me how i can print off a figure for the 06/07 tax year please.?
thanks again.
Gary.

pretty please ;D ;D
-
open george go to reports then fianace report it now gives you the time period to print the report for select one year then ending select 05 04 2007 or whatever date your tax year ends then press print and the rest is easy.
-
Reports-----finance report ------enter date for end of year accounts---------bingo
If you really want to impress , print off daily summaries for everyday for that year
-
I just print off a weekly finance report and a weekly expense report.
Then a yearly report on the above and hand that to the accountant.
Easy

thanks guys.
but i think george financial year ends in december...
is there any way i can do a tax year? ie. 05/04/06.... up to 05/04/07

in George hover your mouse over where it says 2006/ 2007 or 2007 and 2008 .
Then click on it and you can alter your year start
-
thanks dave got it... cheers. ;) ;)
-
Don't they do a george for the hand held pc yet?
-
you numpty read the instructions you have been given and it will print to the end of your financial year.
-
hey...
to read the instruction on a software package that does everything, would take about a week, ::)
so i ask on this wonderful site for imformation, and if i can help anyone with a little part of george that im up to speed with... then of course i will.
you should try using this forum for what its here for,
you might be enlightened and learn a thing or two,
manners would be a good question to start with... im sure you will be helped enormously and immediately. ::) ??? :-\

I've been educated about george reading this, it's quite an interesting topic.
Where I would expect the tax man to catch me out- given what we have already said about printing weekly finance reports- is the bank reconcilliation.
In other words marrying up all the cheques. For example I tick off the fifteen pound job but she writes a cheque for thirty because I do the cons roof.
-
oops lol.... i think most of us are legit ;)
-
I'm not talking about legit, fidding the books, or anything else. I'm talking about book keeping and being able to answer difficult questions in a simple straight forward way.
George does a lot of things, but it will not reconcile your bank statement. This is the aspect I was refering to.
-
well,
instead of putting £15 in .. for that one off job.. you should add the price of conservatory onto it too, that will cover it, but to be honest my bank statement would not be shown to the taxman in any case,
after all , when my missus bumps into me in the middle of the day for £50 for a new top, i can hardly put that down to expenses, nor can i bank it.
so its not an issue with bank statements.
-
If the conversation starts going that way just look blank.
The £50 for the top would be accounted for by 5 ten pound cash jobs that you entered into George, you didn't write it down as drawings as you should have done and it could afffect your cash in hand figure at the end of the week. But you haven't done anything wrong.

gazza i was talking about the instructions i gave you on this post. i do use the site for what it is intended but some people don't seem to read the replies they are given because two people explained how to print off a finance report which would have had the correct year end and yet you still coundn't do it

f course i could do it...
my george was set for the financial year endimg 31st of december....
i simply did not know how to change it to april 5th the quote above is the only one who let me know where the button was... i simply did not know that you could hover over the year to change it...
but i do apologise for sounding ungrateful, and perhaps i misinterpreted your post, so thanks for your help , and im sorry, as you took time out to answer me.
