I have recently cleaned 2 flights of stairs and landings / hallway in a two storey house. The carpet was a felt backed synthetic loop pile (cheap carpet) in a very pale creamy colour. It was very heavily stained in places and the first flight of stairs had obviously carried a lot of traffic as it was very dirty. When I saw it I didn't expect a great result.
I presprayed with Onestep Fineline (microsplitter) and agitated manualy with a pile brush. I extracted using only water with - wait for it - a Numatic CT 470.
I can only describe the result as amazing; the carpet really did look like new with every stain gone.
I have just taken delivery of a brand new Prochem Powermax - If the Numatic can get results like this I can't wait to see what the new machine is capable of!

Seems to me if the Pneumatic CT 470 brought the carpets up like new then the new Powermax is not going to get them better!
Must be the power of these modern day cleaning fluids.
Hats off the those developers behind the scenes that can easily be forgotton.

I hired little Numatics out 20 years ago when the wands were better and got good results in spite of the tiny pump and tank capacity.

When the wands where BETTER been quite new what does that mean.????

Northstar:
Freshly cleaned carpets can look better immediately after cleaning.
It's what they look like when dry that matters!!
Beware of wickback if overwet.

I have started doing a courtesy phone call to the clients 2 - 3 days after the job to check that everything is ok. I think this is good practice, but being new to this work I'm not sure if other CC's bother to do this.

Doing a call back by phone a few days later shows you have an interest in the client, so in that respect its good. Better if you are getting positives like you say.
Suggest you now call back in about 10 months time and remind them who you are and what you did, and then make a move to booking again.
