Evening gents
A woman booked me in last week to do her a quote for her house carpets and possibly do the job there and then if she was happy with the price. Went this morning and her 'partner' came to the door yawning with bedroom hair. "Yes mate?" he says. "Ive come to do the quote." I replied. "What quote?" he says! It seems his girlfriend hired a rug doc instead and didnt bother letting me know. He rang her and she said that she thought i was coming tomorrow and was going to call me today to cancel. He seemed genuinly sorry and even offered to pay me something but i thought nah it wasnt his fault it was hers.
I dont get too many time wasters but when you do they are so frustrating!!!!

I know what you mean. A couple ofmonths ago I booked in a spray job, took the time to go there - and nothing. No-one was there!
Why havent they got the bottle to just ring and cancel, I would much prefer that rather than driving all the way there ::)
As you say, doesnt happen often but when it does you just want to throttle them.

Keep her number in a nice safe place. Then if your awake at 3.00am one cold morning. (,Sunday/Monday is ideal), give her a call, say in a slurred, just out the pub voice, " Isss Dave theere......? - hic ".
She's wide awake, and cant get back to sleep again-yay!
Scores on the doors = 1-1 ;)
PS:- dont forget to withold your number!
PPS:- I got this idea from a Paul Pearce lecture. Page one paragraph one...Joking...

I had one booked for Tuesday (just gone), a 30 mile trip there so wrote off half a day for this job.
Monday night 8.45 pm and the phone call came to say that she was taking the kids out for a pre school day out.
Chuffed i was not, as this was booked 3 weeks earlier and as I said half a day gone to waste.

Hi Neil
Just quickly steering off subject, I notice on your website that you have a link for google - a html page. I presume that this is the google html page that they have asked you to create and get up on yout ftp site?
There doesnt have to be a physicall button/link on your site, just the html page uploaded and thats it. Google will find it without it actually being seen on your site.
Sorry, I'm not interferring just thought I'd let you know mate in case you wanted to not have that google button on there!
Cheers
Kev

A job today at 11am, I travelled further than I would normally do to do a job. It was at a rented house in-between tenants. The key wasn't where the owner said it was supposed to be and his mobile was switched off. No big deal, I went to the nearest pub and had a steak pie and chips and waited until it was time for my next job. No point getting wound up about such trivial things in life in my opinion.

prehap's its because you've wound someone up! you could be having steak & chips quite often!

Over three separate careers I've witnessed at close hand the population 'make-up'. There's the very likeable, the neutral and the utter pains. Just accept we have to deal with all varieties - there is no escaping when you offer your services to the public. Enjoy life !! ;D
