all depends if you're gonna higher the bigger machines which come with a

driver then no you dont need a license or if you're hiring the smaller

machine's which are self operated then yes you need a IPAF license,

which you can get from variuos different company's through out the UK

we used the platform company which have depot's all over the country,

hope this helps  :)

if you get a machine with a operator then you dont need any training

or license, just make sure you take a harness with you cus all the legit

companys wont take you up in the basket with out one, either that or

if the h@s officer is around on the job you're working on he  will be straight out :)

I would go for the IPAF licence its only about £150 and lasts for 5 years.
The course lasts a day.
If the cherry picker is big enough to come with a driver you dont need a licence just to be in the cradle  with him.
I use these, they are from Leeds as well

You can get more details from

If you phone A4 ask to speak to Warren or Janet. they will help you sort things out. I know that they do have some small machines
What size machine are you after

Sort of finished, I worked until 8.30 last Wednesday to finish. But had to go back today to do a couple of jobs I could not get to . Fingers crossed its all done now.
If you do get a machine from A4 ask if you can have Ray as he used to be a window cleaner and he also  helps clean windows.
