a pub we have just started cleaning daily has a large solid oak area of flooring.
the landlord has been told that they cant use any product at all so we have been using a microfibre mop with very little very hot water on it
has nayone got any better ideas? it is taking for ever to do this
i have suggested that they may like to seal it - any ideas here as well

Sealing it may make it slippy, have you contacted your local janitorial supplier he may point you in the right direstion.

yeah the guy i spoke to at our local place is quite good - the seal he mentioned (that i cant remember the name of right now) will not be slippy as is not like a polish but will still protect floor

I would probably avoid mentioning anything to them about sealing the floor cos if they dont like it you know who's gonna be blamed...If they want it sealing let them buy the product for you to apply etc, in otherwords let THEM make the enquiries and take the responsibility etc.
In the mean time i would be trying to find out another way of cleaning the floor. Tell them at the pub that its taking forever to clean it with a microfibre mop etc. I'm sure that a tightly rung regular mop wouldn't cause a problem BUT you need to find this out for sure. Are you able to contact the manufactuer and/or supplier of this floor?

Are they going to tell the customers to not spill any drinks on it when you have spent hours cleaning it with just hot water?!?
This sounds a bit odd to me. It may be worth asking why you can't use any products on it and who has told them this because it may be that they have misunderstood the instructions from whoever it was.

Hello, I have at present 120 mtrs of natural stone flooring inside a bit house thats just been built and I have the job of cleaning the floor. I am using a product from libron who also make wooden flooring seals, they both are of the same type but have different colourings. Libron have a very good technical dept so I'd ask them if only to get a clue what you need to do. They are in New Romney in kent

we use a company called Granwax who do allsorts of cleaning poducts and waxes/seals for wooden floors we use a product called easyclean on all the oak floors we maintain. There are also loads of different types of seals available you just need to tell Granwax what type of floor its for and they will advise you what you need to use without making it slippy. I personally think it would need sealing by a specialist.
seems strange to have an oak flor in a pub which isnt sealed in anyway as the alcohol will cause more damage than mopping it

try johnsons traffic wax, mop it on then wait till it drys then buff to the required shine
