Title: FLOTEX CARPET - best way to clean??
Post by: Joe H on September 02, 2007, 06:34:20 pm
Got a tentative enquiry for cleaning what I believe to be Flotex carpet - its in a care home office.
Whats the best way of cleaning
I have machines - HWE, Texatherm, Envirodri with sponges

Depending on the level of soiling, but presuming a worst case scenario:
Pre-vac
Brush dry with your Envirodri (black brushes preferred)
Vac again
Repeat as required
Prespray
Agitate with Enviro/black brush
HWE
Repeat from prespray if required.

With your wand, a glide will be beneficial, otherwise lift the handle a little to reduce the "lock-down effect" and give better airflow. Extra dry-only strokes as required.

Bonar recommend lots and lots of water, but be wary of any chipboard type fittings and furniture that could easily be damaged.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

B**locks to that lot, we clean miles and miles of this every year, just HWE it with something like Formula 90, it cleans up like a dream.

I agree the wand does tend to cling to the flotex so you have to break the seal.

But honestly we have a contract for 9000m2 of this every year and it cleans up on one pass.

I'd still recommend a pre spray first but if you are getting every year they must be happy so...
