There was a post on here some weeks ago about this, from a lady asking how to remove the stains from upvc frames. Did anyone find a quick and cheap solution? I've started to come accross it now and it's a bugger to remove with normal cleaners even upvc cleaning cream. :-\

I find a couple of rubs with the WFP gets rid of loads of it.

Some of this is really stubborn. Most times it is ok but i do 1 place where it is like concrete and wfp will not remove most of it at all. Not even with soaking.
The customer in question swears by cillit bang as the only thing he found that will remove.
However i do them twice a year myself and upvc cleaner does the trick.

hi,i know i'm a newby, but i've been cleaning pvc-u frames for a bit now(its the wc bit i need to sort out!)i find the cream cleaner WITH BLEACH! does the job coupled with a worn kitchen scourer i get the cream from morrissons around 70 pence or so for a bottle just keep the frame wet and you'll be ok (try it on your frames at home-maybe its a new opening???????????)kevin

I did buy some solvent upvc cleaner and it smelt like nail varnish remover so i thought i would try some nail varnish remover and it works just aswell.
And better than cream upvc cleaner.

Be careful with nail varnish/remover paul, it contains Cellulose and celllulose can melt UPVC,
I did a post some time back about using cellulose on upvc, it does an excellent Job, but as soon as youu apply it, you must quickly wipe it off, with a clean dry cloth or kitchen towl.
It will also get rid of all your fly poo.

I misread this subject at first. I thought it said "insPect poo". I had visions of someone trying to decide if there was too much dog's mess in a garden before starting work.

Had some more badly spotted sills today I'm going to have to experiment with different cleaners on my own house first. Maybe a spot of bleach? Really not sure about this I don't want long term damage.

Get some upvc solvent cleaner, it gets most things off with just a wipe , I get it from a general upvc supplier 1 ltr for about £3 last ages, don't half stink though, gets rubber scuff marks, paint, fence treatment etc etc off a treat :)

the cream cleaner with bleach does work better than the solvent-i fit windows and doors as a living,me and my mate have experimented on other peoples windows for around two years now trying to clean them(we saw an opening you see!)the solvent is ok but its not good for your health, honestley the only thing which does work is the cream cleaner with bleach (around 60p for a bottle)combined with a used kitchen sponge scourer it doesn't mark the pvc at all(we have probabley tried it on most of the different pvc profiles-all with bloody good results)it will bring the windows back to looking brand new,try it see for yourself-p,s,its better if the window is wet, would be good for wet days nudge nudge ;D ;D
