you could get them funny 'over shoes' they are blue and have elasticated bits at the top and go over your normal shoes
screwfix have them, cant remember what to search for online though. they look stupid, and i wouldnt think they are safe - but i guess they must be or they wouldnt be sold by scrwefix.

Merrell waterproof boots or shoes, boots are better.I found using a 2x2ft pole i was getting a bit wet,i now use 3.5x3.5 for bottoms and no problems.

Funny question that because I had the same trouble with admittedly cheap waterproof boots. I've just been out and bought another pair the same so one lot have time to dry out. Always my left foot that gets the wettest for some reason. :)

If you hold the bottom part of the pole with your right hand your probobly right handed Dave, therefore you put your left foot forward when your poleing.

you get what you pay for & with working any weathers you minght aswell get the best to start with whats the point in getting cheap boots/shoes that are supposed to be water proof . its the same with waterproof clothes you by the cheap ones and you end up as wet as you would without them as they make you sweat like made . i found golfing water proofs to be the best .

I bought a pair of walking boots from Aldi £17, they are waterproof and breathable.
They are also very comfortable and every bit as good as my last pair of expensive walking boots. They are made from that Nubuck stuff and keep themselves clean.
I don't koow how Aldi do it. Dai

A good pair of "proper" walking boots & a bottle of that water-proofing liquid stuff. re-apply the liquid every now & then & you're sorted.

I think it just takes a few weeks of WFP to get the knack. I'm 6 weeks in,.. and every day my feet are staying a little dryer. I've still not perfected the technique yet,.. but I'm making progress.
Stand further back,..
Stand off to one side,..
Turn the pump down a bit,...
Work faster (Dryer!) after all those 1st cleans are done....

It all helps

Its not just the WFP system that wets your feet its the dew in the grass or the wetness on the bushes ect ect ;D

Great minds Dai!

I got some of these Aldi boots and they are brilliant. I even use them instead of my karrimors (£90) on my walking/scrambling trips round Snowdonia. I use them because they are only about two/thirds of the weight of my karrimors.

Just got a drill stand from them so I can drill my incredibly expensive Bentley brushes (not) for the jets. £9.99 bargain. Just got to find a 4.8mm drill bit now.

we have tried allsorts of waterproof boots and weelies make you feet sweat. Best answer we have found is gortex over socks. i.e. let the boot get wet but keep the foot dry seems to be the bes compromise. It is difficult to get hold of these gortex oversocks though. sealskin socks do work available in millets but they tend to get holes in quickly and at £25 a pair its an expensive way to keep dry. if anyone finds a source of the goretex a link would be usefull for me too.
