i know that it will differ from area to area and that you would need to see jobs first but i have a meeting over next few days with the owner of a fair few pubs and want to give him a ball park figure
anyone?
-
£1.50-£2.00. if your getting a few.
-
i would charge approx £2.00 per sq ft also.
-
cheers you two
mark do you mean per square metre rather than foot - if so that is quite a difference
-
I used to do pubs for a shopfitting company who used to do most of not all Whitbreads pubs and 6 years ago I charged £2.50 a metre as it is hard dirty work and you'll be surprised how little carpet there is in some pubs and the amount of chewing gum especially with the no smoking law.

I charge on top of previous quote for gum removal
-
had forgotten about gum - cheers
i know what you mean about small amounts of carpet in some - one we looked at today only had a strip about 8 x 2 - maybe we could work on price per metre but have min charge
-
A big consideration to me would be - when do they want you to do the cleaning , no doubt out of normal working hours.

Pubs are dirtier than your average carpet.
They often want them cleaned at unsociable times of the day.
Brewery's want credit.
All of the above is beyond your usual rate per M2 so your price should be too.
As an industry, we need to Talk Up our professionalism and standards, otherwise we will always be regarded as "Just Cleaners".
Sadly, for many CC companies, increasing turnover is essential and sometimes they have to sacrifice their margins to grow the business and sometimes even to make ends meet.
It's a tough life. I'll shut up now :-X
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Thats the reality in which we operate Ken. If someone offered me 10 pubs if I did them for £1 per m2 I would take it at the moment. I know I'm worth more but pride does'nt pay the bills.

I do a fair amount of pub’s/clubs, I have never ever quoted square anything! And always payment on completion!
Ken
You are so correct (have to sacrifice their margins) .72p sqm, which I matched; only last week learnt they went in a grand cheaper, they are a plc company.

Like every job you price to customer expectations and what work you have at the time.
How many times have you priced cheap because your not busy and still not got the job?
And how many times have you priced high cos your very busy only to get a call a couple of hours later to book it in. :o
We are in a strange world :D
