Title: WFP Start up Costs
Post by: Kwackers on August 21, 2007, 05:29:55 pm
I was just wondering what i should expect for a start up complete water fed pole system, and wheres the best place to look?

Theres Systems on ebay second hand going for £300 upwards and brand new systems around for £6/700, but i'm guessing there just not up to the job?

I have a 1000L tank i use for pressure washing, if that could be utilized that would mean less space taken up in the van.

Any thoughts appreciated

Allow about £1000-£1200 to set yourself up with a competent DIY system or about £3500-£4000 for an all-singing Van-mount system.

500 quid does a great job, just be selective with your bits

at the end of the day

its a:

water storage tank
pump
hose
brush head with jets
pole

Cleantech do a kit for newbies,£500 all you need to get going.I think it`s a bit extra if you want a tank bigger than a 250ltr.

Having helped many 100's of newbies to start up, it would be most unusual to spend less than £1000 even on a DIY system. By the time you have bought a decent sized tank, a good pole, a decent RO Unit and all the fitting kits, straps, wiring, switches and bits and bobs, you would have very little change out of £1000.

Several firms do supply DIY kits that are good value, however, these are usually just a starting point and will need several upgrades and plenty of other bits and bobs to get you actually working.
