Hi
Do they come off when selling the van...
or is it just something they say to sell the vinyls to us.... any experience of trying to take the signs off?
cheers.
Gary.

We used to do it when we got our new lease vehicles in because the bloke in the graphics place we sent them to used to charge £40 for removal of them.
It wasn't hard from what I can remember.

they do come off, but its a pig of a job!
i was told if you use a hair dryer on them, they come off alot easier.
good luck with that job, rather you than me.

hair dryer and a good finger nail is all you need

hair dryer yes, finger nails ?? use a dry cloth or a little damp (just like a window with silicone on, remember if these signs have been on a long time you will still see them, some dont care but to be if you sign write over it and someone looks close is looks bad and very unprofessional, once they are once t-cut the signs out or get someone that knows what they are doing to do it, any car valeter can do this for very little money. These could be words you will think back on if you dont do it, once you have put on your sign writting you have to stick with it.
Been there done it before, dont make the same mistake ;)

i used to work in sign making and fiting, just put some white spirit in a fine spray bottle, spray it on then dab with a cloth. the edges will lift then just peel off. dont worry about white spirit on the paint work, it's laquerd so will be fine.

As I found out on one of our vehicles last week.
If you want to remove the sign writing in a hurry use a diesel pressure washer - 3000psi with turbo nozzle attached and try and wash the vehicle.
My wesite details are in pieces down one side!!!!!!!!!!

so its a no no then in most cases. ???

It will forever leave a "shadow" from uv light - even glass does.

Get a cheap blow over from your local garage.

;D
so £250 to put them on.. and £300 to have a respray lol
How many customers are generated thru van signs...
i hope its worth it lol ::)

I think you will get more work due to being signwritten, your a mobile business card and people will be more likley to approach you in the street as it`s obvious what you do.Being signwritten says your looking for more work.

I've just cleaned 2 of my van's off, best to do it on a warm day and then t-cut the van after.
Time scale depends on van size and amount of sign writing on it

When we did it all it took was like someone already mentioned. A good strong finger nail to get the buggers started. It wasn't that hard and the signing on our van was old. why pay someone else to do a easy little job like that.
