Hello Dan
if you are paying £1495 for a 2 year old one of these a power mate
you are paying about £1000 to much a 2 year old power mate
i personaly wouldnt pay any more than £500.
But to be honest with you i just wouldnt buy one full stop.
Just to underpowered.

thanks mate, not paying anywhere near tho.

I just missed this one on ebay, I only bid up to £150 and it sold for 160.
Great little machines, used to have one and could carry up stairs with one arm. Cheap parts, easy to work on, 3 buckets to fill up, 2 to empty. Vac power good, psi poor.
Max value for second hand one £500. although I have seen them go for more on ebay.

I'm a bit confused, are you saying you are paying £1495 for this machine? its only that price brand new, all you are saving is the VAt.
I would'nt pay that price. I agree with the £500 price.

Mike...He was refering to the price- brand new, then he corrected himself....and the machine he refers to is only 2 yrs old and had very little use...plus a lot of extras...total price £650...not a bad deal for a newbie, ...low cost start up...huh..
And just to make a point ...for the...arrogant, (I know it all) carpet cleaners out there...If you bought your machine for £4000.....It's only worth £1000 after 2 yrs with hardly any use, right!...sure ...uhuh
-
Yes sorry I was refering to its original price!! £650 for it with extras (i.e van, scantilly clad swedish woman to do the cleaning etc.... ) :o
So, gentleman, is the sabrina maxi better than this one mentioned above I ask?
Thoughts Please

Dan...they were polish women, not swedish ;)

A Polish polisher suits me Scott.
To aggitate a carpet how's this done? is there a tool for it etc?

You could use a long handled stiff brush - or a short handled one if you like getting down on hands and knees!! Hard work but when cash is short one has to do it.
Mechanical devices INCLUDE Sebo Duo, Envirodri 30/40, or the Host Reliant. Prices new for those range from £180ish to £1800ish. I am taking delivery very soon of the Envirodri and I will use it as a "dry" carpet cleaner for some jobs including bedrooms and flats when access with the portable is difficult/impossible.
There are ther options which no doubt others will post.

pile brush...included (£30 new)...and Around £200 worth of chemicals too...by the way, they are £1683, when you add the vat...
-
when's she available then scott? tonight?
-
No, don't be silly....soon....keep in touch...will chat to you on msn shortly...I need sleep.
-
£650 isn't a totally unreasonable figure considering it comes with a few extra and has had light use.

If your going to spend a grand get a Ninja reconditioned 135 psi 3 stage vac, in line heater from ashbys, £1095 no hose or tools though. It is the bol$%cks! 8)
