Do you keep the on/off tap and holster on all day, then plug the microbore into one side and the pole into the other?
Or do you need to remove the tap and put it back in on every job? thanks, Luke
-
I wouldn`t bother just put a ball on the micrbore and on each pole hose.
-
sorry NWH I don't follow!! Luke
-
Rather than have a hip holster i would recommend a ball on each of your hoses to protect your connecters from damage,a holster will be more hassle than it`s worth.
-
no, Im not using the holster to protect the fittings but to turn the flow on and off! Luke
-
You`ll still find you won`t need it.
-
Im still going to try one anyway and if I don't like it I'll scrap the idea!!! I'm just not sure how they are used. Do you wear the tap and holster all day then plug the microbore into one side and pole into the other or does it need dismanteling each job? Luke
-
luke you can buy them ready to put on the belt, cant remember who it is, when i sober up tommorow
i will find it ;D ;D

My holster fits on the hip. It is the fold over pop stud type.
The end of my microbore has a brass tap on it with a schrader connector on the end. This assembly sits in the holster and the pole hose has a schrader connector which I push fit into the tap/schrader.
If I'm poling and need to go back to the van (rare) I unclip the holster flap, leave everything connected and put the assembly on the floor. When I get back i do the reverse. (Be careful - it is easy to put the pole against the building, walk off forgetting to disconnect and pull the whole pole over!)
When I finish a job I reel in the whole lot including as much of the pole hose as possible.

thank you very much malc (g) old!!!now I understand. Do you use it to conserve water and stop it making pudles when its left alone? and do you find that you turn it off between windows? Luke
-
Luke, get yourself a lanyard or whatever theyre called
the straps you wear round your neck for id badges etc.
just clip your hose end onto that , I find it easier to turn off and on than reaching to the hip, a lot cheaper too.
