Roughly how long would you expect to spend cleaning a flight of stairs (12-13 steps), average dirt, no major staining.
I know everybody will differ and I don't want to start a debate I just want your personal views.
Cheers

for some reason or the other i HATE stairs, from pre-spray to extracting the bottom stair, probably 20 minutes.

same as Mike

U boys not vac stairs?
-
I vac with my TM then have a pump up 2ltr spray in my hand go down and do that then with a brush in 1 hand and the stair tool in the other bruch then HWE, I then put a turbo drier at the top of the stairs upside down angling down the stairs and towel the stairs, pack away or go to another area to clean and stairs feel dry.
It's alll about time management in this game ;D

If it's not to start a debate...................you chose the wrong place !!!!!
Debate is a great learning tool, but , unfortunately there are always some hypersensitive souls who take everything personally.
For just the stairs / risers in a typical modern house I would take around 20 minutes ( average ) but there is a huge variety of stairs, particularly when you add on halls and landings, so be wary if you are quoting on the phone.

I agree with carpetguy - one has to be careful when quoting unseen. I have done stairs which are almost twice as wide as "standard" (whatever that may be - its what people perceive) and I have seen landings and hallways twice as big as what I pictured in my mind from the clients description.
and as much as I try, I just keep forgetting that word, prices "from" - thats like having good insurance..... "I did say from"
To vac, prepsray, agitate then clean - I cant do 13 stairs in 15-20 minutes - must be unfit, gotta get some traingin in!!

Hi Andy,
For standard stairs, prespray, dwell for 10 minutes and extract in another 10 mins so 20/25 mins usual time. If you're using a low power porty then a pre-vac might be needed!
Using a proper swivel head stair tool makes a lot of difference, no stooping or bending over causing less backache!
Worth while getting one, bought mine from woodbridge (http://www.wcsuk.com)
All the best,
Jason.
