hi,
Leave any seconhand machine alone, I bought one off some guy named P****y off ebay(who incidently parades on here I believe) and it is was a complete rip off.
I am sure it will be in good working order until it lands at your door.
Buy new.

I have just purchased 3 Inkjet printers off Ebay from different people.
All of which were advertised Excellent condition.
Guess what, thats right none of them work properly.
Dont think I would have the confidence to purchase any second hand Carpet Cleaning Machine unless I saw it working first.

Anyone reckon this machine could get me started or a waste of time?
-
Speak to John Kelly, he was taken aback when he first tried this machine.............he now sells them !
-
Do I take it you work with these machines then Carpet Guy? Do u work for Craftex?
Dan

Hi Dan,
Both machines look okay, for under a grand you cant go wrong!
I bought my first prochem machine brand new, since then I've had several second hand machines mostly without problems apart from vac motors and pumps which are to be expected and arent that expensive to replace.
My advice is to buy the best machine you can afford be it new or second hand.
Kind regards,
Jason.

I only talk from 22 years experience and using about 20 machines, possibly more. I have no connection to anyone in the cleaning industry.
There is no point in me giving an opinion on what I think is the best machine, as you can only compare against a budget, or intended use.
If I was starting up, rather than backing out, I would regard the Prowler, as the machine that appears to tick most of the boxes...............for me !

Ive said it before, when buying secondhandmake sure the body is in good nick.
Electrical wiring pipes etc.
Be prepared to replace Motors and pumps over the next few months.
If you buy with a small pump it might not be easy to upgrade to a larger one.
The New Craftex Machine under £1000 only has one Vac

Ive got one for sale...will get you started, and I dont stitch anyone up...selling up, and machine is on the "for sale" pages.....if youre interested Dan....twin vacs too...parts very cheap and readily available from woodbridge...not had much use...plus a load of chemicals...good deal.

I never knew the P DIDDY now sells carpet machines, WOW!
-
Got a Craftex maxi, great little spotter, but would not want to clean a room with it, just got one vac motor, also got a craftex grace, great bit of kit.
-
Personally I'd save at least 2k and get something with 2 vacs and at least 135 psi.

I assume you are refering to me Catman.
You only had had a problem with me when you found out that I bought the machine for less then half the price I sold it to you for.
last time I checked we were still living in capitalist country. I did nothing wrong apart from try to earn a living...
If I buy a holiday from a High street travel agent and someone else buys the same holiday from the internet at half the price. Nothing I can do about it. Its called life... Its a tough old world out there and we are responsible for our own actions... get over it....

Forgot to mention life down south is great..

Are you talking about Pro-Dry? From my recollection he is in business to make money - what are you in business for? For the record he recently sorted me out a machine I bought and I am selling on - if I make on it I'll send him some beer tokens. Seems a decent enough guy to me
