Title: D I Y VEHICLE SIGNS / GRAPHICS
Post by: geefree on August 09, 2007, 10:53:09 pm
Hi

Because i am unsure how good advertising on the van can be,

(as most of you say it looks professional but not good feedback for advertising)

I was thinking of diy as an option... have any of you ever fitted your own and how happy are you with the end product.how do  you think they  look compared to other vans seen with the full monty..(. ANY PICS)?...

example below.

all that link is for it a makers of signs that will supply you with the sing to apply yourself

very easy to apply, ive seen sign writters do it for the council, 1 guy was a painter and was asked to join the sign team, we all watched him do his first sign, its not hard

I have done them on a KA, a Kia Sorento and an old an for my brother when he went into business a few years back. is very easy - just be careful.
as a tip:
i know someone who fits film to windows (like mirror film and tinted film etc etc) and he sprays on water and washing up liquid first, stops the glue sticknig to the glass. then just go over it with a credit card or something like from top to bottom and the water is removed and the glue sticks. make sure the surface is clean first though or it'll show up.
any bubbles, just pop them with a compass  and smooth them over as much as possible if you cant remove them.
and, avoid trying to pull off the stickers once you have smoothed them on.

indeed, good advice

ive fitted tinted film to windows and its the same thing as them signs

GG is used in the USofA for appling films and signs, just dilute and spray on with water and GG and then that will help you get the poistion correct

use a SMALL STIFF rubber sqeegee to get out the air bubbles as you apply it, TAKE YOUR TIME, job done
