can anyone help me on this will a vari-stream controller be compatable with a 95psi flo jet pump or would i need a shureflo pump if i needed the shureflo pump can these handle two poles same as the flojet can thanks for any advice on this
-
Varistreams are designed to work with SHURFLO pumps and the shurflo is a lot lot quieter, the flo-jet sounds like an old cortina and the shurflo sounds like a rolls royce.Use the vari and 100psi with strainer and minibore 8mm,no more pressure switch problems as there not needed a perfect combination for reliability.
-
thanks for quick answer but will the shureflo handle two poles
-
The 100psi will handle 2 poles, but the rule is 2 people 2 pumps and the same for the varistream with 2 of you you`ll need another one.
-
so if veri are designed for sureflo what do u use for flojet
-
You can use flo-jet but the varistream was made for the shurflo pump,so if you have a problem with the vari or the flo jet williamsons will say you should have used the shurflo with the varistream.

I have 2 varistream running 2 flowjet and they work fine. A much better output than he shureflow if you need it like filling a backpack. You will probably need to tun the blue dial down a bit though.

are they easy too connect up as i run flojet at moment but was thinkin of changing to suureflo soon but i cant see point in wasting money if vari-stream works on a flo jet thanks
-
You might need to run another pos + neg from the battery for the other varistream, the good thing is there`s no pressure switch required with the varistream.Leave the switch in place but disconnect the wire on the switch.
-
They are just the same to connect onto both pumps. Wires to the varistream from Batt and then to the pump from varistream. There is a little blue dial inside that you can tinker with to make sure that the pump cuts out at the right pressure. If you already have a flojet I don't see the point of getting a shureflow.
According to williamsons the varistream was designed to go with the sureflow, but when you read the info on the shureflow it says that it was designed to be a stand alone pump ie it has the right flow rate at top speed. I have the flojet and yes it is noisy but it works really well and when your 100ms away noise doesn't really matter.

I have been using 60psi Flo jet with vari. I phoned e mailed Williamson Pumps with my pumps spec they told me it was fine. Had no probs. I use 8mm micro times 100m with one pole. Got alot of gear from Stream just before last xmas, they told me they recommend Flo jet with vari.Works for me.

Sorry what an ass, other way around Shurflow not Flojet.
I must pay attention ;D
Regards Steve.

cheers for the replys think i will stick with me flojet for moment before i have a complete overall whats it going to be stevepb flolet or shureflo
-
One or the other :) As mentioned if you already have a pump carry on with that. It is always invaluable having someone who is actually using a piece of kit giving you their own experience with the product, in this case a pump. Good evening to you, or is it morning :)
Regards Steve.

I use a flowjet 60psi with no varistream.
Perfect waterflow with 100mtr microbore. So one question.
WHY BOTHER WITH A VARISTREAM?

im using 95 psi flojet at the moment and seem to be using a lot of was talking with a lad the other day who says i would be better adding a varistream controller to help reduce flo rate but he was unsure if varistream work on flo jet
-
I'll try again. When I spoke to a supplier they told me because I already had a Shurflo from my trolley system and I was putting this into my van system, they recommended using a vari because they found the pressure switches on the Flo jets a bit more wearing/robust, and not failing as much in their experience. And as I had a Shurflo already to stick with that. Again I use Shurflo/vari with no probs.
Regards Steve.
-
Why did they recommend a flo jet pump because of the pressure switches being more robust, with a varistream you don`t need the pressure switch connected.
-
If I had a Flo jet my pressure switch may have lasted a bit longer or not had probs. As I had a Shureflow they recommended a vari.
-
Is there a Shureflow pump that fits into an Omni trolley Classic 50 as my flo jet died today and I won’t to get a vari-stream controller to help pump?
-
Flojet now have a model thats got an internal bypass_ no variflow needed.
