Hi guys,
Just wondering about water fed as I'm really keen on getting going as soon as possible now. I was thinking of getting a backpack to get started as advised by you guys! Anyway just to make sure and give me a check list of things I need I'll list what I think I need and if I miss anything just let me know.
IBC Tank (Purchased)
Backpack
Pole (was thinking about 30'?)
Ro system 100 gpd
DI resin and vessel
TDS Meter
Think this is all I'm aware of that I need if there is anything else let me know. If anyone knows were I can get any of these nearly new or secondhand that would help me get going even faster.
Cheers guys, you have given me the bug now help me get going. :)
-
are you going to put the IBC tank in your van? Luke
-
No mate, in my garage. The question you asked made me realize that I need water containers.
-
there is something on ebay under water fed pole somethig to do with a back pack think its about 140 or best offer not sure if it is wat you are looking fore so please read the read up about it poast back once you looked at it
-
Thats what I need. Is there anything else I should be looking for with the backpack or is that complete or are you the seller?
-
why dont you put a single tank in your van with a pump and battery, no messing about with containers! Luke
-
Would like to but I'm in a car at the moment. I'm saving up for my second van at the moment ;D
-
no i am not the seller just saw it last night as i have bought a few water fed pole parts off of there my self as i am building my own in vehical system as for is there anythink else you need i will leave it to the others as i dont no any thing about the back packs are you going to buy it if so good luck but like i say read the read up about this item as i say i no nothink about the backpacks
-
colley, safety cones! or otherwise those people who just take advantge of tiny dangers will slip on some water!! Luke
-
I'm like you myself, I've used them in the past but someone else used to do the tech stuff with the systems and if it was me that was using it that day he would drop it off in the morning and take my van which had trad gear in the back and ladders on the roof rack. Now I'm running my own show I don't get that type of service and have to pay for everything myself.
-
On Ebay theres people bidding on a backpack setup, everything you need to get started.
-
Luke,
Your a genius! Probably cost buttons and are worth every penny and more! That makes me wonder does anyone wear Hi Viz Vests whilst using water fed poles?
-
NWH,
Have you got a link for that set up, I typed water fed pole in and Shurflo and didn't see that matey.
-
Only on commercial work or high street.
-

-

Good Luck with that matey! Have you used water fed pole before? :)
-
Go on Ebay and type in window cleaning, then select WFP on the right hand side and then scroll down about half way.Your see it in a picture,it shows backpack 2oogls per day RO,pole complete backpack setup. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
oh colley, a hozelock style on/off to fit onto the backpack wand, that will save you loads of water!and a trolley with some bungee cords incase you find the backpack too much at the end of the day or just in general, luke
look at this colley, a real nice little trolley

I have used wfp to clean my house 3 times now and to do a conservetorie with a customers tap, I think its going to be great, can't wait, I've been delayed because the brake pads went on our van then the garages brake tester broke, so missed my fitting appointment! Luke

Luke get that deep heat ready for those achey shoulder muscles mate. :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
I converted my backpack to microbore-minibore.
-
yeah!!!don't worry my mum does great a great massage! Luke
-
I know she does LOL. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
NWH, cant find that backpack, only a backpack by itself, Luke
oh yeah, how did you convert it to microbore and what is the advantage because that wand thing has a very small internal diameter, Luke
-
Try selecting one of the other headings ie RO units or pure water.
-
Yeah thats a good point. I've heard a lot of the lads on here saying they have chopped there's off.
-
I think you can just chop it before the handle then attach the hozelock on/off, trouble is when you chop it, it makes your warranty useless, so get the backpack from a company that do window cleaning stuff, not that cheap ebay guy ( I know its tempting but if something breaks then they wont send a new one if you have sent yours back with modifications), Luke
-
Luke,
Thats just what I've been thinking about, you must read minds!
-
wow, I hope I am, I could make money as a telepathic window cleaner, people would gather from miles around to see me!!!Luke
-
Luke just cut the hose and buy a shrader microbore adapter,it has an on off tap aswell which is handy with the backpack, secure it with an O ring.Luke a good purchase would be a kit you can buy which comes with about 15 different sized O rings 5 or so EZsnap pole hose connecters 6mm 8mm barbs for hosereel etc all for about £25,handy to have in the back of the van.
-
Luke,
You would be 100% with you r canvassing, imagine it stopping outside someones house " Yeah, I'm getting a feeling. Yeah they want a window cleaner." You'd never have to leaflet drop or anything, just put your hand on your forehead, drive around and get out your van when you got that feeling and hey presto, Knock on the door and away you would go! ;D
-
I wish!!! Luke
