thanks for the prompt reply chris,
do you know if these will fit a hoselock hosereel, the plastic reel, not the metal one

They should do the thread is the same size as any other

If you are on about the 60m plastic hozelock reel the gardiners sells, then NO it wont fit, I started off with that plastic reel and the female  kept popping off the male connector on the reel , it's an odd size on the hozelock  >:(

john, thanks for that, we have the same problem and we were hoping that a metal one like that would solve it

You can get the grey Hozelock fitting from some places but what a suprise - it's got a different sized thread to the rest of the cra* they sell so it looks as if you can't upgrade to a brass one. >:(
