just set up my static in garden shed just wondering if these readings are correct tap tds 225 after ro 14 through di 0 wast 315 i think i have it set up ok anyone know different
-
Depends on what RO system your using.
With ROMan I'd expect better than 14 ppm but with experience I've found that these systems take time to bed in (so to speak).
But overall I'd say that's about right.
-
dose every one agree then
-
sounds ok
you shoul run it for 20 mins then flush it for 5 mins then it should settle down.
-
Mine is a RO-MAN 200gpd twin membrane system pumped at 100 psi - 475 tds in & 10 tds out
Chris
-
ive got a 50 or 60 GPD from RO man, tds in 400 ish, tds out 4 or 5
-
so what are you saying my tds from ro unit is high how do i solve this i bought the unit second hand but the filters have hardley been used it is a 100 gpd unit dont no what make it is
-
what system have you got?
-
dont no what make it is all i know it is a 100 gpd 3 filters 1 membrain
-
In that case your figures are about correct, although with just one membrane don't expect it to last too long.
-
how do you mean it wont last that long should i buy a up grade kit then
-
In all seriousness yes. The membrane takes the brunt of getting the tds down, if you spread the load around 3 membranes then you should get (a) more water production per day and (b) membrane life will be extended.
225 ppm input isn't hard hard water but enough to strain that one membrane to it's limit.
BTW you ideally need a pressure reading at the RO of 60psi min
-
my presure to the membrain is 50 psi
-
Not ideal. Get a booster pump.
-
i got told that this would be ok but as you say not ideal how much is an upgrade kit and were can i get one
-
Check out the ROMan site.
It's starting to sound like you've been done for what you really need.
Cut your loses and get the ROman 300 gpd system. Without looking it up it's about £200 or so
-
cheers

if your static setup is a 1000 L IBC, then just run the system you have
when its dead and it could be in a year or 2, then replace it
dont spend your hard earned if you dont have to
10 out isnt too bad, run the flush on it for a night, this should get rid of any of the build up in the membrane and your TDS might come down a little
if you want to buy anything, get a big resin cyclinder 11 L , fill it with resin and leave your RO do bring it down to 10 and the DI the rest
10 isnt that bad
-
just tested it again after flushing down to 7 thats better isnt it

just tested it again after flushing down to 7 thats better isnt it
7 is fine, get a DI unit
http://www.ro-man.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/33/products_id/98
filled will last you a while OR get a 11 L resin cylinder off ebay
-
going good but only produces 25liters in 3 hour isent that bad
-
200L in 24 hrs is probably about right considering the ONE membrane and your water pressure.
You're going to need triple membranes and a booster pump if you want to get over 600L in 24 hours.
-
ok cheers so i am doing it right then
