Title: Chem dry on hard times
Post by: CARPET KNIGHTS on August 06, 2007, 12:19:19 pm
Was astonished today when i went to regular customers house and was shown a chem dry leaflet that was a virtual replica of my leaflets. The design of my leaflet was totally unique to me, i designed it from scratch. My customer said she couldn't believe it when she saw it as she had seen my leaflets before and she thought it was copied. They have even started pushing the environmentally friendly thing the same as us which they haven't done in the past.

I know that this can't be stopped but you would have thought that a company like Chem dry would have been a little more original!

Cheers Goron

It is so annoying when this happens.  Copyright these days is so hard to administer as all you have to do is change a few words round.  We have  picked up brochures where people have copied whole sections of technical stuff and claimed it to be theirs although we know it is information that we have written.
It comes from laziness or lack of knowledge or a mixture of the two.

Good things always get copied, as long as yours still works why worry, take it as a compliment.

Can I have a copy ;)

I was lead to understand that all Chemdry marketing was based on a formula that must be followed by all the franchisees. I know for a fact that they are not allowed to do their own artwork for YP

It has  obviously been done by your local CD franchisee and not CD as a company. Why dont you send a copy to the CD HQ complaining that its your copyright. They might just have a word with the guy, you never know.

Goron take it as a compliment, perhaps stick a photo of your ugly mug on so the customers can differentiate and they will see who they are getting.
