hi all technicle pro's, anyone no why a transfer pump would die... just finished filling my tank, turned off pump, then about to start filling containers and nothing........ checked fuse still nothing. DEAD!! only 3 months old. Any answers would be usefull at this time, fairly big contract tommorow wfp, only now no water.. >:(

Happened to me few months back.
The pump was faulty
under 12 month warranty but does not help you.
I had to syphon into tank for a couple of days- nightmare!

Can you not syphon it for now, its a long proccess but better than nothing.
As for the pump, I would check for continuity of the wires with a multimeter ad check for 12 volts on the red wire If ok, then the next step is to dismantle as far as your capability would allow.
Remember tampering with the pump will invalidate your warranty.
Maybe a slight tap with an hammer !!!

Is it a transfer pump with a float switch? If it is, the float switch may have triggered off somehow.

Some of the more expensive pumps are fitted with a thermal trip switch, because the motors and electrical connections are in a resin filled case, if this is yours just let it sit in the water for 10/15 minutes to cool down, the give it another try.
Is its a 12v or 240v pump?
Dave gave a good tip, but give it a bang with your hand and not a hammer ;D ;D This can crack the case if your as un-lucky as me :'(

if there is a low humming noise or any sort of noise /movement when u listen close to pump body at switch on, but no pumping then electrical connections/ supply ok. motor prob jammed. try giving it a knock as jeff advised.
