Where is the cheapest place for the 17ft galss fibre Xtel pole? thanks, Luke
-
It changes by the week mate, I got one from Cleaningspot with £6 p&p but last time I lookes the had free P&P but had put the price of the pole up so it cost more than my one combined, and I dont think they are cheapest now.....just do a search through the main suppliers.
-
Without answering your question my strategy is to find suppliers I can trust, and stick with them.
Use one or two suppliers, not six or seven. The next time you can't work because of a three or four pound item that you need rushed to you the next day who do you think is going pull out all the stops for you?
The guy you use regularly or elcheapo?

Well said Eco!!
I use a couple of main suppliers and sometimes I may save a quid or 2 by shopping around BUT as you say it pays big time when you are in the s h * t with a prob to show loyalty. I was kn*ckered for an item worth £2.50 a couple of weeks ago and phoned my supplier up at 4.50 PM when I discovered the prob. I had it in my eager hands by 8. next morning because the supplier drove round to the Post office and got it sent by guaranteed next morning delivery and only charged me normal postage rates.
A lot on here bang on about their W/C customer loyalty and moan when they lose a customer many also saying they charge big time for the jobs as well. What goes around comes around. Loyalty works both ways.

well the people who are going to fit my system will be the rush emergency men, but I've already got my poles, I will be spending a considerable amount of money with them
650ltr tank
tank fitting
100 mtr microbore
hose reel
100psi pump
varistream
2x di bottles
small fittings
battery
etc
so they will be the people I have to supply me with little parts that go wrong and also to go for advice, Luke

The only times I ever see you post is to plug your stuff. >:(
At least Alex Gardiner gives a lot of help around here although I dont kid myself that he does it merely for philanthropic reasons. No offence intended Alex. I would do the same :)
-
I think Alex deserves to sell a little off this forum because he spends so much time helping people with problems, so far I have found him very helpful and enthusiastic about this industry. He is a big part of this forum and without him it wouldnt be as good, :) Luke

It gives me a lovely warm fuzzy feeling being of help sometimes but it's an even warmer, fuzzier feeling when you give me your money! ;D
-
LOL you little tinker,i spoke to Kirsty yesterday about RO`s my my Alex she knows more than you.
-
I used Gardiners for the first time and got my pole today (the very same one that Luke is asking about).
I spoke to someone called Anna- but I think her second name must be Awkright (Ronnie Barker open all hours), becauise she flogged me a goose neck and then said she hadn't got any. Alex obviously trained her well. ;D

Rainwater, I'm getting my system fitted on tuesday, WOOPIE, I will also be getting that pole from the people fitting my system, it is only 69 quid from them, they will fit a 500ltr tank instead, I will be going over payload with a 650ltr,Luke
-
Good choice on the tank size.
What i was wondering is what have you been doing. Are working, waiting for your van or what.
If you've had some free time you could have been designing leaflets, delivering leaflets canvassing, and doing windows trad which is a skill you will need to learn.
You have mentioned two months work, what does that mean, and where did you get it from.
Don't want to know much do I?
-
No, I've had my van for about 3 weeks now, I clean trad 2 days a week the other days I do charity work, i've already done my leaflets about 4 months ago, they just need slightly changing for wfp, i don't need to do anymore canvassing at the moment, but when I get my wfp I will need to do more. the past 4 months we have been saving for the van and pole system, Luke

I can't fault anything you're doing. The money you invest seems a lot, but I promise, when you look back it will seem like pennies. Have you got George? have you figured out what to have put on the van?
-
my dad loves the sound of George, i think we really need it because we accidentally missed a couple of jobs once, it made us feel unproffesional! Our cash will be depleted after buying the system so we will get the sign writting done in 2 or three weeks, I am having a logo made by a signwritter at the moment, I could do it myself because I have alot of design skills and photoshop skills but I can't be bothered, I just want somebody else to do it! Oh yeah, do you have George on a pocket pc thing? Luke
-
George is free to down load and then so many uses.
I bought it twenty minutes after downloading, it will be the best ffty quid you ever spend.
You print off tomorrows work, or next week. Get a new custy just tap it in. change the freqeuncy etc. You need this.
I don't have pocket george no, but it's free with the program.
I don't want to be a heartless heathen, but dump the charity work and start chases the dough.
I don't see the logo as that important, but the marketing. your chosen name, the customer benefits, the area you intend to work in, your strategy for all this is.
I noticed 'bro' tried to help you but you blanked him, that was a mistake his marketing is brilliant.

I tried him 3 times today.... He must be selling loads.....
I will buy mine else where now...
-
called back three times must be working to hard. hope you managed to get what you needed

window cleaning warehouse is the cheapest, 69 without a brush with vat, so with one it will be about 90 and extra for postage, Luke
