Anyone got any tips or techniques for cleaning the 1st floor French Doors with the railing across.
Did my 1st one the other day and was an awkward sod. :(
Have another tomorrow so any tips are welcome.
Thanks

I have some of these, Straighten your angle adapter so that the brush and pole are in line, turn your brush on it's side to thread it through the bars, turn it the right way and wash. Sometimes you can do them from underneath the bars. you need to shorten your pole so that you can just reach the top of the frame with the pole at arms length. The first two sections of an Unger teleplus is ideal for this as it flexes in use.
Looking at these bars from the position you usually stand, you would think no way.
If you get up really close to the wall and look up you will often see a 6 inch gap, that's all you need to do them from underneath. Dai

Clean top half of doors down to railings as normal. Rinse.
Angle head of brush at a shallow angle to the pole.
Hold pole so brush is near vertical and place in between bars so that when you turn brush horizontal it's edge just covers the edge of the side-frame. Scrub up and down, pressing in tight and going as high as possible up under the top cross bar of the railings and then down to the bottom frame.
Turn pole so that brush (still between the same bars) now extends as far as possible to the other side. Repeat above. Turn brush as vertical as poss. and remove from bars.
Move across and repeat as above so that you are putting the brush in between only the railings that are necessary to scrub all the glass.
Rest back of brush or top of pole on top railing and run from side to side rinsing the glass from this half way point.
It's a knack you'll get for each job.
Oh! Make sure your brush is tight so that it doesn't swivel and get trapped between the bars! And this work is a nightmare with an autobrush (the top bar fouls the bars too easily.)
Modified to add:- Dai beat me to it! ;D

it`s easier to do these types of windows with one of Alex`s goosenecks and a brush with a narrow stock.

Wear out your ordinary adjustable neck, give it a whack on the bars so it twists the brush head shove it through the bars turn up the flow and go man go!
Don't be so fussy there still only windows

best with a goose neck will reach easy

Umm some clever stuff going on out there.
Think I'll try the Goosneck tomorrow, I have one but didn't use this pole the other day. May need to swap brush though has it has a Vikan Sill brush on it at the mo.
Will let you know. thanks everyone

I think I've found the best way now for me.
I used my 15ft with gooseneck and sill brush, hopefully it turned out Ok. Custy was in and didn't have any complaints........well not yet anyway.
Found it quite easy no real problem at all.
Thanks for the tips.
