Just got my backpack and trying to suss out what’s the best way to connect to the pole/hose.
I use the EZ snap tail onto microbore hose for the van mount. What adaptor or fitting would I need to connect to the backpack bearing in mind I want to keep the trigger on the lance which has a ¾ inch male thread.
So looking for ¾ female thread with EZ snap tail input from pole hose. Or, any other suggestions.

Wayne,
I have cut the black pipe (removing the trigger) and jubilee clippped a length of 10mm hose then fitted a EZ female on the end.
However I have got flow valves on ALL my poles.
Now if you are trying to use the trigger as a universal on/off trigger then you need some sort of adapter to screw in the 3/4 thred where the male standard hose connector is and a 6mm barb so you can connect a small legth of 10mm hose then conect a female EZ connector?
If I were you, I would ring Cleantech and ask if they have a fitting to fitt EZ connector to a BP.

Hi Dave
I have your moby no from a previous thread and was ready to give you a call. but thinking about it for simplicity taking the trigger of completley will probably be the easiest solution as I also have control valves on all my poles so shouldn't be a problem, I could always replace the cut off the oringinal female lance connector should I need to.
What did you use to connect the Black backpack hose to 10mm hose with Dave, some type of barb connector?
Thanks

Wayne,
Yeh, give me a call if you like. I'll help where I can.
Heres a few pics how I have adapted my BP

The blue 10mm pipe is just pushed into the black BP pipe and a jubilee clip put on. Never had a problem!

Do any of you who use back packs carry them on your back??.. Only asking coz ive got a van mount and a back pack but i dont use the back pack much but was thinking of using it a bit more.
Ive tried using it on a trolly in the past and its more trouble than its worth so i was wondering if its better and easyer on your back than a trolly..

Thanks Dave I will have a play later today.

I think Dave uses his on his back but then again he does have three Shredded Wheat for breakfeast. :)

Dave, did you use any type of insert metal/plastic for joining the two hoses?

Hi Chaps,
Wayne,
All I have done is pushed the 10mm pipe into the cut off BP black pipe and put a jubilee clip on......no insert....and I have never had any trouble with it ;)
Bazz,
Yes I wear it on my back ALL the time. I have NO other system. The trick is to mount the BP so as you DO NOT lift it with your arms.
Now I have gone 100% Backpack ;) and have developed my system around it.
I have a 1/2 ton trailer with a 250ltr flat tank a 50ltr/min transfer pump and the BP is mounted at back hieght on the back of the trailer so all I do is store the BP full back up to it strap on, grab a pole, connect up, turn on BP, extend pole, flip the flow valve on the pole and wash away. When the BP runs out of water all I do is back to the trailer back up to the rack, BP off, lid off, pipe in top, flip transfer pump switch, 30 secs - full, flip tran pump switch, lid on, back up, strap on.....etc.
I have learned where to fill up and to work furthest away first etc. Its just me, BP and pole. I can get just about anywhere.

Take my hat off to you David!
I've read your posts since you started, I started before you. I have a backpack on a trolley.
I thought you were going to fail, but you have kept going. That backpack must weigh a ton! You deserve recognition my friend. You must be one tough windowcleaner. An inspiration to us!
Respect to Mr D.

It's a clever system you have going there Dave and well thought out. I just hope I can handle it for the odd jobs I have were I know the BP will come in very handy. Didn't get time to play with it today will have ago tomorrow.
Is microbore hose 10mm?
If so I just need to chop a foot or two off my reel and put a new EZ snap female connector on the end,
Done!!!! as Gordon would say

ive had mine over a month now, and i always wear it, day in day out, and full too
its not that you do get used to it, and besides, its only heavy when you put it on. you are constantly using it so therefore the weight drops quite alot

never ceases to amaze me the ingenuity some window cleaner have :o

Yeah i read all your posts too.
I started wfp a couple of days after you i think. 31st march last year??
I had my complaints between 6 weeks and 3 months before i was good to go again.
I remember reading your posts in envy at times cos you took the limitations in your stride, whereas it knocked my confidence temporarily when i 1st got complaints.
Apart from that our experiences were very similar.
That's a grand setup you have now though. I've gone for a more minimalist approach. ;D
all the best
