Title: Toilet rolls, paper towels, etc for office cleaning

Hi there, :D

I have difficulties with a quotation for a rather large office ( 160-200 employees).
They would like to include toilet rolls, paper towels bin liners, hand soap. etc. I never had to include these before, hence my doubts.

I've read in previous posts that its best to quote for this seperatly and charge the customer based on usage.

But if they insist, what would be average usage per person in an office? There must be an average quantity.


The other thing that bothers me is, how much to charge for them,  if sold separatly. They can propably be a good source of income, (and a lot of hassle ???) so any advice on pricing would be welcomed.

Hi

It is very difficult to estimate the useage because it depends on so many factors. The disposables can vary a lot depending on what type of systems they use. For example if they use standard toilet rolls without high use dispensers, you're likely to get a lot of waste and pilferage (even if it's people just taking them to their desks)

If they have metered paper dispensers then the overall cost would be less but, nevertheless, I would expect it to cost you between £100 and £200 per month.

If you charge as they're used you can probably make 30% profit margin on them.

You need to find out what type of paper systems they use (standard toilet rolls, jumbo toilet rolls, bulk pack, c/fold towels etc) plus what sort of soap system. Lots of dispensers will only take certain makes and types of cartridges so you need to find out if it is a cartridge system or a bulk fill system where you can just buy 5 litres of soap and top the dispenser up as required.

And remember you can always fit dispensers for them ;) (and charge for it)
