hi guys iv got a new estate going up near me with the 3 story town houses on it and im just wondering if my 25ft brodex will get the windows in the roof?
How far can you pull your pole out as i try not to lock it out fully as i keep hearing of people snaping them on hear.
And how do you go about priceing as i usually charge a £1 a window for normal 2 story.
ps.if nigel(NWH) reads this i got the deep seal gooseneck like you said.
cheers joe

£1.00 ground and 1st floor. £1.50 2nd storey. £2.00 3rd storey.
Add 50p if it is bay.
Just a rule of thumb

anyone else want to help??

I work my prices on time the job will take (% of hourly rate)
plus if there are 3 storeys an additional fee (your choice)
as they are premium for wfp'ers
I also include a little for travel time if its not in one of my worked roads.

I don't think a 25' pole will reach as most 2 story houses are 21' to the gutter, so allowing for the angle to get to the roof you are going to be short.
-
I use a 24ft pole and can reach 3rd storey no problem.
-
30ft minimum

Same here 24 ft Pole has been Ok for 3 story house, although I think a longer one will give you a better angle of attack and probably not get as wet :(
Looking at the xtel hybrid but cant decide on 27, 30 or 34 ft. Decision day today ordering on Monday. Anyone else been using these poles.

24' ft to reach 3rd story? are you sure it's not a bungalow with a cellar & dormers?
-
Quite sure. As Pittmonkey says, 30ft will give you more options but weighs more. The 3 storey houses I clean are all new builds, so maybe older syle houses may be that much taller, but 24ft is fine for my needs.

Same here Nick all mine are the new 3 storey Town House's they are throwing up everywhere. Haven't done any of the old type.

for the velux windows on the roof of a 3 storey?
-
It depends on what you mean by 3rd storey,i do a 3rd storey on a house and i have to use all 6 sections of my superlite. That`s about 35ft and holding the pole at the base of the insulated section,24ft in my opinion is not high enough,i don`t count holding a pole at the base above your head and stretching the right pole for the job.

I have a new custie with velux on 3 storey comming up in a couple of weeks, now I know my 24ft wouldn't get to that. Currently shopping for a larger pole. Would think I'll need 30 -34 for this.
-
depends on the angle of the roof. I have some like that and I just get to em with a 36'

thanks guys for the replys.
But what about how far to extend the pole without it snaping?

They are made so you can extend them all the way without snapping.
They won't break under their own weight.
