Title: curtains & fireguarding

Good day, been asked to clean curtains and fireguard them in a community hall, never fireguarded before can i do this, do i need to be licenced and is it expensive, thx Paul

Yes you can do this with ease, however check that you are covered by insurance for this sort of work, if you give steve or julie a ring at chemspec they can advise you further (chemspec also sell good fire retardent sprays)

Flowtechniques had some Fire Retardent at Carpex. They told me they could provided Certificates.

This was sufficient to conform to Fire Regulations for public buildings. Hotels etc.

I was not so sure?

What does the team think.

My understanding of the current law is that unless you perform a burn test ( flame) and a cigarette burn test you cannot issue a certificate, the chemical may conform to the required standard but not the material you are treating, check with the local fire officer.

I could be wrong but will tak to trding standards in the morning and post their reply
