You will need  nylon 3/8" Screw to 1/2" barb fittings which are £1.25 each.  You will find these on the website in this section www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Hose_barb_to_screw_thread_adapters__tank_fittings.html (http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Hose_barb_to_screw_thread_adapters__tank_fittings.html).

I would recommend using half inch reinforced hose for all of your connections between the tank pump and hose reel.  This allows for greater flow rate and also means you can use standard size hozelock fittings at the end of the hose to connect to the side of your hose reel.
