Title: Crystal green & Cleansan
Post by: Paul Simpson on July 18, 2007, 07:15:46 pm
Tried crystal green today for the 1st time mixed with cleansan.........impressive results I thought!
Been using double clean in the most part up to now and was never very impressed by it.
Before & after pics were cleaned with no prespray, just the crystal green/cleansan in the tank after a prevac.

Hi,

The results look great.

What type of carpet was it and why did you choose to sanitise it?

Just seems like a wierd thing to try, without good reason.  We have used this combo on carpets in care homes where they are worried about bugs etc, but we used microsan instead of cleansan (as it kills a raft more things apparently).

Normally, you can sell on the same angle to res clients using a non-cationic formulation that doesnt limit your choice of detergents.  Ie you could use an anti-bac deodoriser with double clean/[insert random detergent]/splitter and achieve the same result.

There is absolutely no way you could tell from the pics what type of carpet it is...lol

Edit: Wow, im pretty amazed you managed to identify the carpet from the pics  :o

They make single colour BWs now....(although i have not seen one on a floor yet)

The carpet was a wool mix and I did a small test prior to cleaning the really trashed areas.

The ph is 9.5 as per Ollie. Finished with Fab/Fibre rinse spray to neutralize.

The cat had pee'd in the hallway near the front door, hence I thought I'd try cleansan with it after reading they work well together on the label.
Carpets were touch dry by the time I left, (blower, warm weather and breeze blowing through front to back doors). Customer was delighted, thought he'd have to replace.

This sandy coloured tufted carpet has got to be by far the most common one I see. I even have it in my house and it is always 80/20 twist. I still always test though. Could'nt make that assumption on any other carpet in a picture mind.
