Hi All, I am after some guidence on a job I have been asked to quote for.
I have no pictures but will try and explain.
Builders clean for a college
There are approx 500 large windows (2 metre x 1 metre all with stickers on them.
Quite dusty but not a lot of mortar on the windows.
There are 4 storeys going up to 20 metres.
They are providing me with cherry picker and IPAF qualified user.
They have been let down by a window cleaning firm at the last minute and are handing over to client next monday so they are getting desperate.
It will mean me messing about a lot of clients to fit this in and also 2 hours travelling per day.
Can anyone give me some guidence on what to charge???
Many thanks in advance

Come on guys/girls some of you must have done this type of work before???
We have done lots of big builders cleans but not on a cherry picker.
Is it quicker/slower to use the basket can hold 2 people.

A guide would be 4 - 6 x times its normal value.
Depending on how bad to remove dirt, stickers & cement etc.

Hi,
I'd price it around £2,500 probably, obviously without seeing job it's hard to say, but thats a reasonable ball park figure I would say.
As long as landscape is level around building then you can clean windows from a cherry picker pretty quickly, depends how much cement and stickers are on the glass.
I'd probably reach and wash glass with a 3ft pole from cherry picker after first removing and cement and glue residue. Probably take about four days I would think with just one of you working from basket.
Cheers,
Huw.

You say that they're handing over the property next Monday and are desperate, this might work in your favour to enable you to get a decent price, particularly if its mucking about with your existing round.
It seems builders cleans always take longer than thought or hoped.
The ones Ive done always have ;D

Thanks for all your replies fella,s
I have put the price in for £3,000 as it means mucking about some of my better clients and losing £2,500 already booked for this week so i will make an extra £500 for the hassle.(£200 for the workers £300 for me.
I have done a lot of building cleans but you never know just how long the jobs will take (mortar, stickers, surrounds.layout)
Doing one at the moment and averaging 3 windows an hour they are shocking and look like the brickies have tried to brick the windows up(joke).
Find out in the morning
Thanks anyway
