absolutley 100%. as far as i know the mkI swivel is no longer available but everything else is including the mkII swivel but it needs a little mod to make it work better. all the brushes in different colours & bristle grades too.

Hi
I'm also looking for MK1 swivelers as I can't get the hang of the MK2. What mod needs to be done on the MK2 to make it work better please.

I did my house today with a rectangular 10" Vikan and i must amit it did clean them better and quicker eventhough i had to lift off to rinse.
The only problem i had was it seems a bit to heavy for the swivel but ill give it a go tomorrow all day and see how i get on with it..

Hi Bazz...
macmac suggests a little mod and I was asking him what the mod was that he is referring to.
If it works great for you then I must have another go. I have adjusted the swivel so the rotation is along the width (longest side) of the brush. Better try to turn it by a further 90 degrees so the rotation is along the length of the brush and see if that works.

Mines on the width and it does pop out with too much pressure - dosen't come apart just pops into a different position.
Baz are your vikans flocked?

Please try www.hillbrush.co.uk
They do all the brushes - do a search for swivels on their website.
Gaz told me he is no longer doing brushes

Gawd Spruce, I've been on that site loads of times and hadn't seen the swivels. Were the Gaz brushes in the hygene section? Looking at the prices I think Gaz was selling them very reasonably and couldn't have made much out of it. Still don't know why he was driven away?

Hi Guys,

Don't talk to me about Gaz, he still has money that I set him for brushes and swivels, I do think Gaz is a good guy, but I don’t understand why he does not return the money that I sent him, when no goods our sent, it has been 3 mouths with no goods sent, but he has cashed my cheque!!!

Hi GazzB
I was in the same position. Finally got my stuff last week after the excuses finally ran out.
You need to 'hound' him. His home number is home 01782 715331.

I can't understand what the problem is. He is great to talk to, also very courteous, but just doesn't fulfill his promises.

Hi Davew.

Yes they are the brushes in the hygene section. they are the soft ones. The 'Tuff' brush he sold is the medium one.
The soft brushes are a white base with yellow brissles (?) and the medium brush is a yellow base with yellow brissles (spelling looks wrong).

I have used the soft brush this week and still prefer the Vikans. What I do like about it is that its much lighter than the Vikans I use now. They are fine when the window is 'clean' but if you have a window with baked on bird's muck is not a good scrub brush in my opinion.

But I can't get the hang on the mk2 swivel.

The mod to the mk II swival is to drill a very small ( about 3mm or so ) hole directly through the ball joint keeping it dead straight & inline with the whole assembly. then insert a nail/split pin or similar just to fit in nicely, not too tight & not too loose. this serves 2 purposes-

1.  it stops the ball popping out

2. it makes the whole assembly much more rigid, i.e. no more flex in it.

I personaly find without this mod the ball just keeps popping out & there is too much flex in the whole thing es[ecially with a plastic angle adaptor too.

Hi Tony
Thanks for this. I presume that the hole you drill must be through the original pivot lug or this would defeat the purpose of the swivel in the first place.

I can get the brush swivel to work but unfortunately it collapses and I have to bring the brush done to set it up again.
I bought the swivel to get behind windows with 90mm apeture steel bar grates fitted and worry that if the brush 'collapses' then I wouldn't be able to get my brush back out though the bars.
Haven't done the job yet

Ive had 2 days with The Vikan and i find it to heavy for the swivel so im going to try your mod Tony on the mk11 swivel and see how i get on with it then and if its still to floppy ill stick the Gaz brush back on..

I've only ever had the mk2 version and wouldn't be without it. I normally only have a superlight brush on it and use very light fishing poles so I don't normally have any trouble. The secret is not to scrub too hard with it square on.

Then I have a Gaz brush! I find it pretty good for first cleans but it seems to lose it's shape a little, still a little heavy for my girly wrists!

Yes the green brush is a salmon (gaz) brush.

Yes, the hole must be drilled from top to bottom still allowing the swivel action.
I found a brass nail that just fitted perfect in the hole, it's made a terrific difference to the rigidity of the whole thing, can even push up top sashes closed with it now.
