Title: Bleeping Ninja brushes
Post by: cleanability on July 12, 2007, 07:46:13 pm
I've had my Ninja for a year so time to change the brushes. I hate the machine. Changing the vac motor brushes just takes the biscuit lol. I've changed brushes on all sorts of machines and they all have re useable eg spade connections. But this bleeping Ninja !!!!!!   They are wired in permanently. Had to mutilate the connections to get old brushes off and botch the connections to wire in the new ones. Am i missing something obvious here cos changing these brushes is a nightmare.

I don't like ninjas either. I had to work on them ever now and then when I was a distributor for carpet cleaning equipment.
Part of the reason I sold Cross-American was well at first their tremendous perfmormance. But also the ease of getting to different components is just better. Are your Vacuum motors the 2 stages or are they 3 stage?
If they are two stage it might be just better to replace them as the price of them is not to bad.  Another option might be to just get rid of the 2 stage in series configuration and go with one high performance 3 stage as it will probably out perform the two 2 stages in series in any event and also you wont have one motor being exhausted into the other one . If they are 3 stage in series I would change the plumbing around to be more in parellel.

Best wishes

I discovered Ninja brushes actually come out easily, but that was after I'd replaced the motors  ??? ???

Thanks Damien. Hey Carpetguy I'm no mug with diy etc and theres no way these Ninja brushes will come out without ruining them and have to botch the connections with the new brushes.
Come on chaps I know lots have Ninjas on this site so whats the secret coz i cant find it. This brush change problem is ridiculous. And a nightmare.

The brushes come out with ease. You just unclip them.

It's the brass plate (on the end of the wire) at the top of the brush which can be difficult.

Just ease it out with care with a pair of long nose pliers.
