Guys
Have a property to look at as instructed by an owner who has just had tennants move out. Letting agent has advised her that there is a flea infestation and she wants carpets and sofa cleaned and rid of fleas. I know its not our field but have offered to try. Obviously will clean/sanitise but wondered if anyone had any experience of this and can recommend a treatment I can apply.

Put a flea bomb in or a flea fogger. Then after a couple of days clean the lot. After cleaning spray with a flea killing solution. They are tricky little buggers.

Why not try popping into your local Vet clinic and explain that you have just moved into a rented flat that has a flea infestation. They will know what to do.

Flea infestations in rented properties are usually the result of previous tenants who had pets moving out. The fleas feed on the animal, breed, then drop off and lay there eggs in the carpet, usually around the edges. The eggs then hatch into small maggots which eventually turn into adult fleas which then need a host to feed on.
They find this host by heat. If the host animal has been removed then any human occupiers become targets.
You need a product which will cope with all 3 stages of the cycle.
Pertmethrin is the approved product for dealing with insect infestations and sachets of a suitable powder which is mixed with water and leaves a residual in the carpet and upholstery to deal with new hatchlings, is available from Craftex and Stapro.

i've allways used no-insect from solutions uk and its allways worked for me
