i am going to be taking someone on for domestic cleaning, i will be paying them £6 p/h and i will be charging roughly £10-£15 p/h, do you think this is good for the business to make say £5 p/h from each job the worker does?
thanks

what are your hourly costs, are you charging by the hour (if so why) or by the job
Cheers

yes by the job but one job at the moment is charged at £55, takes me about 4 hours, so when i take someone on would that work out ok for the employee being on £6 p/h

hi
based on £55 for 4hrs work and you paying £6 ph to the worker and you'll make £7.75 ph yourself - sounds alright. Where I come from I would of charged the client a little bit less and bumped the hourly rate to £7 for the worker.
kind regards Paul

Dependant on where your're located this sounds fine to me. Considering you have to account for all your overheads as well. i.e materials, transport, etc...

Sounds about right to me.
