2.4 Total quantity or scope of tender
The contract involves the cleaning of all external glazing at the Dundalk Institute of Technology campus, Dublin Road Dundalk, Co.Louth. The buildings to be cleaned are listed along with drawings of glazing in the following section.
Specification
a) To clean all structural glazing both sides (i.e. internal and external)
b) To wipe down all frames including ledges both sides to remove surface dust/dirt.
c) To remove excess water from horizontal frame and window boards.
Note: all cleaning to be carried out using a safe system of work, which is in compliance with current Health & Safety regulations. All access is strictly the responsibility of the appointed contractor. No detergents are allowed to be used in the cleaning of external glazing.
Terms
Contract is awarded for clean only and must be carried out during the months of July/August. Invoice must be addressed to the Institutes Finance Office. Contractor must notify the Estates Office that all window cleaning is complete. The Estates Office will inspect work on the basis of a randomly selected set of windows (5) for each building completed and may withhold payment of the entire contract if not satisfactorily completed.
Estates Office will make payment 40 days after certification of invoice.
The contractor is required to carry out the role of Project Supervisor Construction Stage under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 1995.
