Title: window cleaners wanted shops in the south
Post by: Grafters Cleaning Services on June 29, 2007, 03:53:24 pm: I have just taken on a contract to do to clean 5 shops (of the same company) in my local area (Southampton)
I need some cover for 10 more shops in the south, in the following areas
Fareham 1 shop
Worthing 1 shop
Bognor 1 shop
Horsham 1 shop
Bournemouth 3 shops
Poole 2 shops
Winchester 1 shop

I have checked my shops and they are all about the same size and the price is as follows
Shop front inside and out £8 weekly
Facia sign (small) £5 once a month (you can wfp these)

Start date Aug 2007

I’m not interested in franchising these shops out (too much hassle) I just want to stick with my local ones as the others are too far away.

At this stage I will not divulge the company name but what I am prepared to do is as follows.

If you can cover any of these shops leave me your company name and phone number and what area you would like, and then on Monday I will pass on all the details to the company concerned who will then contact you directly.

I have priced these shops the same as the previous cleaners (who they are not happy with, I think they were subbed out) the price is negotiable but to get the contract it would be better to stick to the same price.

All shops must be cleaned by 8am before opening although you can choose a day that suits once you have spoken to the manager/ess

Payment is by invoice once a month and should be paid within 2 weeks of invoice.

Possibly interested in Horsham if price seems OK.. I assume it's a key job if they have to be done inside prior to opening? Obviously it's more worthwhile if I'm not waiting around for someone to let me in.
Hopefully parking not a problem especially as WFP may be needed. I say this because a lot of shops in Horsham are in a mall (Swan Walk).
Naturally I would wish to see the job first before making a decision and I'm sure you would want to at least speak to me to try and make sure you would be getting someone who is OK. I would, of course, keep your client's name confidential.

it not ness for wfp it just that it is easier to clean the shop sign that way, however there is no reason why you could not use a ladder.
no key required as the shop assistants arrive at 7am prior to 8am opening.

Ok. Thanks Jay. Glad to hear the assistants are there very early as it makes things easier.

Also hopefully I'll be taking on more work in that area but I'm not interested in cleaning insides/gutters/ facias/ conservatories, I have already turned away a few of them.

Well done Karl.
I think you probably helped your cause by offering to do Worthing AND Horsham. Less invoices for the contractor to deal with that way. Sounds like a fair bit of travelling though. I'm in Crawley myself and the furthest south I go currently is Lower Beeding to the southwest and Staplefield to the south southeast. I will be after more work and am considering increasing my catchment area.

I am based in Portslade and already travel to Worthing, Lancing etc. With regards to Horsham - 2years ago i was based just outside of Billingshurst so I have a lot of work around the Horsham and surrounding areas which I have full-time guy cover who is based in Coolham nr Billinshurst so there is really no travelling involved. But, if I get offered any work around Crawley I could pass it onto you if you're interested-email me your details.
