Hi all
I was asked to do 135 chairs in a indian restaurant. The usual cheapy, foam backed, bottom chairs.I didnt price the job or see it before hand (was passed by someone "reliable".
Anyway, got there ,did the usual spray, agitate, hwe with the hand tool ..but could tell a lot of the deep "stains"were in fact abrasion(could even tell before starting that there were small cotton strains on the chairs). The chairs were only 2 years old,but its a busy restaurant.
I did them till i was blue in the face, but no joy at all.I explained this to the manager, but he got quite indignant."you not clean, you not clean" etc.
I showed him how the water was running completely clean in the see-thru hand tool,he still wasnt convinced! aaaaarrrgggghhhhhh i thought.
I was lucky,i got paid i suppose, but i hate that nagging doubt of not having done a job right .Do you ever get that?I had literally done the best job to my ability and circumstances..but i wasnt happy with myself.
Any thoughts?
I know one thing,i will always look at a job beforehand before i commit myself!
Thanks for listening to my waffle. lol.

clean 1 chair and show him the result, tell him that's how clean they will be. if he's happy continue, if not pack up.
never do a full job and expect to be paid if right from the start you can see they are not cleaning up too well.

Yes I Do and it will play on my mind for ages. What If! i`d tried this done that etc. But from experience indian restaurant managers are hard to please so dont let it bother you. It is a case of getting out of you what they can.
I have cleaned the dinning area, at the training ground of a well known football club this week and you would have thought they had played a match in there.
Blue carpet tiles very heavily coffee stained and a stair case that is supposed to be grey, but actually looked a mucky brown.
When i had finnished i took a step back and inspected my work and was thrilled with what i had acheived in the dinning area but the stairs where disapointing.
My thoughts were can i do any more or is that as good as this will come up. Considering the foot wear, age and frequency that the carpets are cleaned (once a year).
My conclusion was probably not.
The restaurant manager can not expect a perfect job on 2 year old chairs that are under heavy use and not cleaned on a more frequent basis.
Next time ask him how often he washes the table cloths, it will be more frequent than every 2 years!
We can only clean them if you want miracles you need the big man in the sky!
