Open the machine and check the wiring going to the heater and small circular switch under the tank.
Ensure that the wiring and contacts are in good condition and not corroded as this can cause short circuiting.

Perhaps the element may be fualty a may need checking.

Best just to get any parts from Ashby's

If it's the Steammate, according to Watlow who make the cartridge elements they only last around 18 months.
I've found on mine they "blow" near the wire end of the element, you can see a crater in the side.
I would also change the high temperature cutout at the same time, it's only £5/6 or so i think (mind you they are only £2 from RS  ;).  )

It is probably a earth leak, take it and have it tested they will be able to tell you straight away by putting it on their tester.
Any moisture or loose wires could cause this problem.

The most common reason for fuses blowing on a Ninja is worn and disintegrating carbon brushes i the vacuum motors......................they are easily replaced, but Ashbys will happily take you, for the cost of a full motor,

my ninja gave me an electric shock last year..it turned out there was a pin hole in the element.  My local supplier ordered the part from ashbys and fitted it for me.
