how many of you guys have a web page and is it worth the bother .
im looking at paying 500/700 for the set up and domain name and then 5/8 a month host.
possibly makes your image better .but does it .???

Hi
Why do you need to pay £500 - £700? The most you need is a static couple of pages.
Let me know if you are serious in getting one and i'll help you out for a hell of a lot less than that.

Mine cost me £6.10 just for the domain name for 2 years, did the rest myself and host it with talk talk my isp. I don't get any work from it but then I don't have it advertised with google or anybody. I use it as more of a business card, and it looks good at the bottom of letters and leaflets.

Me personally, i say why bother?
I've been doing window cleaning for 21 years, and have never had a website for that business (but i have and do have other websites). I did advertise with Yellow Pages the first year i started, but have never bothered since. There is so much work out there it comes to you anyway without spending on advertising.
The only reason i would have one now is so that people could pay me online, as i have seen on a few other cleaning websites recently.
Seems like a good idea. Saves keep going back to collect. (Not that i do that nowadays)

500/700 is way too much, it really is
a website is handy for online payment and listing your "services" but thats about it
hosting will cost you 20 quid a year, 10 quid reg for 2 years

Yesterday I said I don't get any work from my website. Today I received an email asking me to price up a job, so there you go.
