Global warming eh! The worst thing is, if by some slice of luck we have a couple of weeks of sun there will be a hosepipe ban and all that rubbish about drought orders etc

For us Wfp boys the gods are smiling, no ban or problems this year now so the money will keep rolling in.

I work in this no problem so i'm well happy, so with this rain + the winter we are set up for 2 years  ;D

I keep looking outside and wondering where April went (remember that, April? It was dry and hot !!)

Ive tried ringing the Travel Counsellors agent today to book a holiday, whenever I ring her it feels Im phoning my shrink  ;D  ;D as Im so depressed with the UKs weather, a holiday would help  ;D  ;D

It's now coming up to 6.30am on Monday morning, and around Chepstow it has been raining heavily for 8 to 10 hours solid and I'm about to go out in it...sigh :'(
God knows what the roads are going to be like...I'm going to be soaked through in an hours time if it doesn't ease off :'( :'(

I don't think I've ever known such a wet summer before :-\

I walked out the door at 6.29am..........but I never log out of here, I just shut down without doing doing so, the site keeps you showing as logged in for some time after if yo u don't actually log out ;)

And yes, I got soaked, didn't ease off until about 9am-ish.
Home for an hour or two to dry out, then it's back out to work again...

Though I was lucky to get to work, my lane was so badly flooded at the one end, even though I've a big van it was too deep to risk going through :-\ S'been 15 years since it was last flooded so badly...and that was in the depth's of winter...not the height of summer!! :o

How do you guys get on with window cleaning in the winter when the rain is with us most days?

Neil

Neil,

Firstly, it rarely rains solid all day, day-after-day; though we did have a dodgy two-week period last November when it felt like it did.

Also, I personally try to avoid working in the rain.  It makes me wet, cold, and miserable; and I hate the thought of feeling like that, then having to justify my actions to a customer.

However, I'll openly admit I'm soft and have a lot of respect for those guys who get stuck in no-matter how heavy the rain is.  I'll only work in a drizzle; usually.

To be more precise, I dislike working on lots of small residential houses in the rain; and this work must comprise of 70% of my work.  I don't mind turning up at one big house and spending the morning or afternoon working there in the rain.

I also have some commercial work I do on set days and do them what-ever the weather is.

But mostly I find now I've got a half-decent round, I can make enough money to pay the bills in a short(ish) amount of time, so don't have to routinely work in the rain.

I also think, with my regards to NOT CLEANING small residential houses in the rain that the problem is mostly in my own head and my customers wouldn't mind.  This is South East Wales afterall, and it rains a lot down here!

I also do plan to 'toughen up' and get stuck in more often when it's raining.

:) I dont like to work in the train aswell.. where i am it seems to be raining alot at the moment!  maybe its just me "a window cleaner" being fussy about the weather...

I didn't.
I had a full day, just like yesterday.

Don't know where you've been, but the forecast was right for me.
