can anybody tell me as to weather a rug doctor would be a good machine for doing dommestic premises..as im just starting out and have been offered a brandnew, wide track for £200...??
-
When i started out in this trade i foolishly purchased a rug doctor :-[ not knowing anything about what machinery was available and what methods give the best results.
Before you buy anything you should get on a training course and listen in to subjects discussed on this forum, then make your mind up about what machine to buy.

thanx for the advice paul

No Problem ajy :) I may be worth looking on ebay for an extraction machine, i would suggest you opt for a wand type extraction machine as these are far more versatile than Rug doctor type machines and if used correctly will leave the carpets cleaner and drier.
Only problem is you wont get what you need for anything like £200 :'(

Also you need more than an extraction machine to clean carpets.
You have to invest in your business and do it right or dont do it at all.

Ajy, About £1500 to £2000 for gear should get you going if your careful, thats not including a van which the same again minimum i would think may get something half reasonable :)

As winter is coming on get a Tubo Drier aswell.
Ps I have no complaints about performance of my rug doctor, as it has less distantance to extract.
.
Same performance as Polaris
However I only use it on small rooms and for spot removal these days. Also F grade cleans
And of course if you use micro splitters you leave no residue and turbo speeds drying
