Post by: macmac on June 16, 2007, 11:40:19 am
I just can't seem to get off it ;D
My wife is away fri/sat/sun, in this time i have made a promise to lift all the old carpet in living room, hallway & passage & lay our new laminate floor!!!
As i sit here halfway through this time period i havent done any of it :o :o :o

Why?

Because of you lot!! ;D

I think i'd better get seriousley cracked on or i'm in for one hell of a b*****ing come sun' night, espesially if she knows this is the reason, she has already suggested starting a new forum for "cleanitup widows" :o :o

You better get cracking!

It is addictive though isn't it. Better being addicted to this than drugs!

I'm always getting nagged at.

Sometime 2 maybe 3 hours passes before you realise :-[

Pathetic get a life you sad idiot!

Clear reach

A few days ago i put effort into giving you very good, honest advise on a certain pole. since then i've noticed you have only contributed to this forum with comments like you posted above.
Many people bennefit (including myself) from other peoples comments, experience & advise on the forum, that's why we like it.
We don't always agree, (ask NWH), even sometimes conflict, but i respect every poster on the forum & credit the forum's members with making my working life so much easier, better, quicker, more productive etc. etc. & i'm now in a better position than ever & am gratefull for that.
For that reason, i try to help others where ever i can & give good, honest advise to the best of my knowlage.

So, if i were you, i'd drop the whole attitude problem, get a life yourself, read, absorb, give us your true identity & then you may even learn something yourself :o

Now, be a good lad & take note of the above. ;)

I've just read through this thread, and if you hadn't said what you had in your reply Tony I was going to delete his comment, but I think it is better left in now so that your own comment can be read and understood in context.

Generally, ignorant and rude comments such as his will receive short thrift >:(

I'm sometimes blunt myself, but not to that extent, we all have differing views but this guy is just being a total plonker. ::)

We seem to be doing a lot of ganging up just lately. So what if Clear Retch is a bit negative, or xxmattyxx has a bigger nose than pinochio, or even that some of us are a bit sad. We should be bigger in spirit.

Ian as a mod is out of order expressing an opinion of this sort. Since when was he the arbiter of polite and inpolite. I have seen mods on here be every bit as rude and opionionated and wrong and at times a little bit nutty.(an ex mod posts on here batty as a barn owl)

Check out Mike Boxalls posts mainly on the general forum, what a model of moderation and impartiality these are.

And of course there was that row when they came back from Birmingham.....That was quite batty.

perhaps his comment was said tongue in cheek?

I have no dealings with him on here at all, so know no history.

I would have said it was a flippant joke though.......only he forgot a smiley to put that across?.

If the guy had his email address in his profile I would have mailed him direct, as it was, the only way I could comment on his very direct rudeness was to leave a post on the open forum.
When others read it they should also get the message that 'flaming' others in such a way is NOT acceptable forum behavior.
If you check out his back posts, as Tony said, many of them were in a similar vein.

On here many will take the mickey, arguments will occur, as will differences of opinion, but it is usually in the nature of good debate.

"Pathetic get a life you sad idiot" Left like that is blunt and out of order.

"Pathetic! lol get a life you sad idiot ;D" Is not, although the terminology is to be frowned on, at least all who read it would know that it was meant in a tongue in cheek way.
And of course he has yet to come back on this thread and say something along the lines of, "Oops, sorry guys, was just having a joke, didn't mean it to sound so rude."
Sometimes we write things and they can be taken totally out of context...It's a shame we had to lose the messaging service, that was also a good way of pulling someone up when they had made a mistake or stepped out of line.
Now of course your email address can remain hidden, so a rollocking has to take place on open forum :-\

I had my wheatabix & coffee & thought about the forem.  ;D

This forem is great, the advise from every one is tops. If it was not for this forem & members help i hate to think where i would be at work now. So a big thanks.  ;D

I try to help others if i can as the help & tips that have been given to me have been well appriciated so it's only right to pass help on.

As for getting a life, the forem is part of it, may be a bit too much time but i don't sit in a pub i have a can while on here. Thats my excuss anyway  ;)

That's Phillip Hanson!

I'm far more 'batty' than Philip; he's straight as a di?!  I'm the village idiot round here.

I missed the row though!

HTWFAIP?

An excellent read but a bit grovelly in places IMO   :)
Still, a lot of good things learnt from it even if I do fail to apply them at times.
