Has anyone bought one of these yet. I quite like the look of them & was wondering if anybody could recommend them.
I currently have a 24 ft Universal that has been repaired a few times so is now just a little short on a couple of jobs, so was thinking of buying a 30 ft X-Tel pole for my 3/4 storey work & taking one of the sections off my Universal pole to use for my everyday 2 storey work.
What do you reckon?

No way would I want to use one at 30ft!
They are very whippy :(
Dont get me wrong I like the Extel poles coz I have one but its a 34ft hybrid GF/CF one and I love it. The short sections are great and the clamps are very good. Its the onlt pole I bother with now for everything from ground floor upwards.
Shell out the extra £'s if you can. Its well worth it.

What would you say the Hybrid pole was like compared to the facelift at 30-40ft,i like the section length.

I probably would never use it fully extended to 30 ft, more like 24 ft but as I said my current pole has been repaired 3 or 4 times now & each time I loose a bit of length. So it would only be to replace that one.
Anyway as I am used to a 24 ft Universal extended fully am I going to notice this X-Tel being as you describe whippy!

Just bought a 30ft and a 34ft xtel pole and compared to the universal poles they are much much lighter .yes they might be a bit whippy but with the extra lightness they are much easier to use and lets face it poles don’t last long. Especially when you are getting windows above peoples roofs and the tiles are scraping them to hell. if you are using a pole flat out they are only any good for 6 months the amount of time you waste trying to repair them.restling with the sections trying to pull them out because they ware so much at the top so you tighten them up and they seem fine till you try and pull them out. At this price you can get some new ones every 6 month.i have found gardeners are the cheapest

What about the Hybrid pole at that size.

Does anyone use a carbon pole I am thinking about getting one for my 3/4 storey jobs as the fibre glass can be hard work?!!

Ive just replaced my 12ft extender pole with the 14ft X-tel,and on first impression the x-tel is a really nice pole, reminds me a bit of a facelift pole because of the width and lightness of it,very impressed with it for the money, excellent service from Gardiners for a speedy delivery.
